Winter passed, spring swept through, and when summer arrived again, Wen Zhihan prepared to take the Gaokao, the national college entrance examination.

For every high school student, the Gaokao meant the end of their high school years and the beginning of a new journey.

After enduring three years of preparation, their destination in the future would be decided in one fell swoop.

Shao Cixin was well aware of the importance of the Gaokao. During this period, she became extremely well-behaved, not wanting to disturb Wen Zhihan’s preparation even a little bit.

Forget asking any more questions, she didn’t even dare to breathe the wrong way. She acted as if Wen Zhihan could be disturbed by others as long as they opened their mouths.

But it turned out that Wen Zhihan was much calmer than her.

She ate and drank when she needed to, slept when she needed to, and didn’t appear nervous at all.

This semester, she had finally grasped the top place in her grade. Having solved all the practice questions in each subject thousands of times, she was deeply familiar with their high school curriculum.

The less nervous she was, the better she would be when she entered the examination room.

But she was still a little reluctant.

The road ahead was complicated and confusing, and no one could tell what tomorrow would hold. Wen Zhihan still didn’t know whether she could attend the same university as Shao Cixin.

After she graduated from high school, she wouldn’t see Shao Cixin in school for at least one year—and up to four years.

When her mind drifted to how she might not be able to see Shao Cixin in school anymore, she couldn’t help but feel sad.

The only consolation prize so far was that she truly hadn’t seen any signs of Shao Cixin being attracted to anyone.

Shao Cixin didn’t notice the sadness in Wen Zhihan’s heart. She was still busy praying for Wen Zhihan to get good grades on the exam and fulfill her goal of getting into Fengcheng University.

The day before the Gaokao, Shao Cixin cheered for Wen Zhihan in their private messages.

[Shao Cixin]: Don’t be nervous. Stay calm, senior sister. You can definitely do it!

[Shao Cixin]: Remember to bring your admission ticket and everything else.

[Senior Sister Wen]: En. I’ve prepared everything. Don’t worry.

[Shao Cixin]: Okay. Then you should rest early and get enough sleep. I won’t disturb you anymore. Good night.

After she sent her good night, Shao Cixin was about to turn off her phone when another message suddenly arrived in her inbox.

[Senior Sister Wen]: Cixin, wait a minute.

[Shao Cixin]: ?

[Shao Cixin]: Is something wrong?

[Shao Cixin]: Is there anything else?

After she sent her message, she waited for a few seconds before she received Wen Zhihan’s reply.

[Senior Sister Wen]: Is it convenient for you to pick up the phone right now?

Shao Cixin instantly breathed a sigh of relief.

So it was because of this. And here she thought something big had happened.

Wasn’t it just a phone call? Since they implemented the “One Belt, One Road” learning model, they’ve been on plenty of calls with each other.

Maybe Wen Zhihan was nervous at this moment and needed someone to talk to. Then Shao Cixin had no choice but to answer her call!

She stopped typing and took the initiative to call Wen Zhihan while lying on her bed.

The phone line connected.

The next second, Wen Zhihan’s soft and sultry voice fell in Shao Cixin’s ear. “Cixin.”

The receiver was pressed against her ear, and the sound was as close as a whisper. Shao Cixin suddenly felt her head tingling, as if an electric current was flowing through her. Her heart even began to feel the same.

She inexplicably felt embarrassed.

She reached out to pick up the doll from her bed and hold it in her arms. Her fingers stroked the doll’s body, each time with unspeakable shyness.

It was so strange. She had heard this voice so many times, but she was still shy…

“Cixin?”

Wen Zhihan didn’t hear a reply from Shao Cixin, so she couldn’t help but frown and say her name again.

“Oh, I’m here, I’m here.”

“Why didn’t you say anything? I thought something happened to you.”

“It was nothing. I just…went to get something.”

“Oh, so that’s what was happening. Well, it’s good that you’re okay.”

Hearing that Wen Zhihan cared about her, a bolt of joy shot through her heart, one which she had never noticed before.

She couldn’t see the smile on her own lips as she asked softly, “What’s wrong? Are you calling me because you’re nervous and need to talk to someone?”

After she finished speaking, Shao Cixin heard two chuckles coming from the receiver.

Wen Zhihan was neither admitting it nor denying it.

She simply wanted to hear Shao Cixin’s voice and listen to the person she liked call her name.

She missed her…

Shao Cixin knew nothing about Wen Zhihan’s feelings, so she still thought that she was just nervous and looking for someone to talk to.

Because of this, Shao Cixin spoke with great enthusiasm and inexplicably developed a sense of responsibility. She must share the burden with Wen Zhihan today so that Wen Zhihan can be at ease going into the examination room tomorrow.

“Senior sister, don’t be nervous. Stay calm, just treat it like it’s any regular exam.

“And you’re ranked number one in your grade this semester. After all, according to my class teacher, you’re already an excellent and mature seedling who will surely make it to Fengcheng University! So don’t worry, just relax and do your best!

“No matter what the result ends up being, at least you know you’ve worked hard in the process. Even more than that, you’ll have a vacation after you finish the exam. It’s so cool to have such a long vacation and no summer homework!”

Wen Zhihan listened with a smile, not interrupting her.

Shao Cixin was always like this, lively and enthusiastic, a blazing sun that never went out. Anyone could feel her warmth when they stood close to her.

Shao Cixin’s comforting words were finally coming to an end. “So don’t be nervous, don’t put too much pressure on yourself, and face the challenge with your normal mindset.

“Don’t think about anything tonight. Just have a good rest!”

“En. I understand now.” Wen Zhihan finally spoke up and responded with a smile.

Shao Cixin felt relieved when she heard her relaxed tone.

Then she heard Wen Zhihan calling her name again, lightly and softly, “Cixin.”

“What is it?” Shao Cixin responded.

But Wen Zhihan had stopped talking.

After a while, she heard Wen Zhihan say again, “Cixin.”

Once again, nothing came after her name.

“What’s wrong?” Shao Cixin was deeply puzzled.

She couldn’t see how hesitant the person on the other end was feeling.

Wen Zhihan held her phone and looked up at the bright moon in the sky. Her chest was overflowing with thousands of words about “like.”

She wanted to say something—ask something—but again and again, she fell into timid silence after she opened her lips.

She still hadn’t encountered a good opportunity to confess her feelings.

If she confessed to Shao Cixin right before her entrance exam, wasn’t this the equivalent of moral kidnapping?

And what if Shao Cixin rejected her and kept her at a distance? Wouldn’t this also cause Shao Cixin a lot of trouble?

Forget it. Let’s leave this topic until later…

But by not saying anything, Wen Zhihan had aroused Shao Cixin’s curiosity and made her anxious for the answer.

“What is it?” Shao Cixin asked, “What do you want to say? Just tell me.”

Hearing her impatient tone, Wen Zhihan couldn’t help but smile softly. She hid her sincerity and said gently, “It’s nothing. I just wanted to tell you that after I graduate, you’ll become a third year, so don’t forget to study hard.

“And don’t forget that we’re getting into Fengcheng University together.”

Shao Cixin lowered her eyes and played with her doll’s ears. “I know…”

The years had flown by. When she and Wen Zhihan first met, she was still a beautiful girl in her first year of high school, but now she was already about to enter her third year…

Time was indeed the most precious and least well-used thing in the world.

“I also wanted to tell you,” Wen Zhihan said, “that I will continue to study with you.”

Shao Cixin opened her eyes wide with a “swish.”

Wen Zhihan continued softly, “We said we would work hard together. I can’t just leave you and let you fight alone after I’m done, right?”

Shao Cixin’s pupils lit up instantly. “Yeah!”

“So if you need anything in the future, you can always come find me.”

After hearing Wen Zhihan’s words, Shao Cixin was so happy that she almost called her a goddess.

Her senior sister truly intended to keep her promise of studying hard together and taking the exam to get into Fengcheng University together. Because they were bound to each other, no one could be left behind.

This was great!!!

“Thank you, senior sister!” Shao Cixin was overjoyed. She happily curved her eyes. “With your kindness, I will definitely work hard to study for the Gaokao and strive for Fengcheng University!”

“En.” Wen Zhihan smiled contently.

It wasn’t possible in high school, but maybe it was possible in college?

In college, there was no reason to break your back studying like in high school for the Gaokao[1].

Everyone could let go of their hearts, fall in love, and do whatever they wanted to do.

If they could really get into the same university…then she would hope.

The Gaokao came to an end.

Wen Zhihan and Xu Zhouzhou were confident that they performed up to or even exceeded their normal expectations.

Jiang Yanqing was captured by Xu Zhouzhou and, under her tutelage, endured a year of studying. Even though he couldn’t break into the top level, the principles he had memorized were enough to support him in the examination room. He was able to fill out the papers and walk out of the examination room with a proud head on his shoulders.

In short, the three people’s relaxing summer vacation had begun.

Shao Cixin hadn’t started her holiday yet.

She was still studying hard in class, preparing for her final exams. Afterward, she still had a lot of homework to do during her break.

Wen Zhihan had survived, but she was still suffering.

Occasionally, she would pass by the empty high school classroom.

Right before the Gaokao, all the third years had left school. The whole classroom had been emptied, and not a single piece of paper was left. Even the doors and windows were locked tightly.

The entire floor of classrooms was silently waiting for the high school’s upcoming third years.

Now, when Shao Cixin walked past a certain third-year classroom she could no longer see that familiar set of blue eyes.

Every time, she would unconsciously recall memories of Wen Zhihan before she left.

She remembered seeing Wen Zhihan in the hallway, how Wen Zhihan would softly call her “Cixin,” how Wen Zhihan would smile at her even when she was standing next to others, how Wen Zhihan would raise her hand in greeting…

The past flashed through her mind, suddenly arousing the reluctance buried deep in her heart.

Even if they stayed in touch, if they were not in the same school, their chances of encountering each other would naturally decrease. A normal part of her day-to-day life suddenly went missing, and her heart felt empty—she couldn’t let go of Wen Zhihan.

With such a good senior sister like Wen Zhihan, who wouldn’t want to stay as her junior sister? Who could give up her tenderness?

So Shao Cixin must study hard, work hard, and get admitted to Fengcheng University in the future. This way, they could be in the same school again!

Although the Gaokao results had not been announced yet, she had full confidence in Wen Zhihan.

She believed that Wen Zhihan would definitely be able to go to Fengcheng University and that Wen Zhihan would definitely achieve her goal.

She believed that Wen Zhihan could do anything.

Reluctant to let her senior sister go, Shao Cixin hugged Wen Zhihan’s notebook. When she did so, she became inspired to study. Her passion for learning was like a fire, burning more and more vigorously.

At the end of the semester, after the last exam of her second year, Shao Cixin got good grades and jumped into the top five of her year.

She was so happy that she stayed awake for most of the night, reporting the good news to Wen Zhihan on Q/Q.

Those who didn’t know would think she’d already been admitted to Fengcheng University.

Wen Zhihan was very happy to see Shao Cixin make such great progress.

But what made her even happier was that Shao Cixin had begun to share her emotions with her.

[Cixin]: Top five!

[Cixin]: I’m also in the top five of my grade!

[Cixin]: You don’t know how happy my parents were after my class teacher called them to praise me on my progress. They even said they would take me on a trip to relax during the holidays.

[Cixin]: Hehe, this beautiful girl really is something!

Wen Zhihan could almost see Shao Cixin’s excited expression on the other side of the screen. Maybe she was already jumping up and down.

Very cute.

[Wen Zhihan]: Cixin is great.

[Wen Zhihan]: Enjoy your time off with your family. It’ll be difficult once school starts.

[Wen Zhihan]: But you have to remember to work hard. Don’t slack off, continue to maintain the same pace.

[Cixin]: Don’t worry. I have a sense of propriety. I will never let down my tyrant’s[2] notes!

Shao Heng fulfilled his promise and took his wife and daughter on a trip, planning to spend a week away before returning to Fengcheng.

The second day after they left, the Gaokao results came out.

Shao Cixin felt inexplicably nervous as if she was the one who took the exam instead of Wen Zhihan.

When she got up in the morning, she asked Wen Zhihan if she had checked her scores.

Wen Zhihan replied slowly: [There are too many people, so I can’t get in at the moment. I’m trying again at noon.]

So Shao Cixin absentmindedly followed her parents around all morning, only coming back to life at lunchtime.

As soon as she sat down in the restaurant, she immediately took out her phone and sent a message to Wen Zhihan.

[Shao Cixin]: Well?

[Senior Sister Wen]: I’m checking now.

[Senior Sister Wen]: When I get the results, you’ll be the first person I tell, okay?

[Shao Cixin]: Okay!

Shao Cixin set her phone on the table and stared at it with her hands steepled together. She completely lost interest in knowing what she and her parents were going to eat for lunch.

When Shao Heng and Lu Lan saw her behavior, they looked at each other.

They felt that something was wrong with their daughter this morning, acting as if she had been distracted all day long.

It was obvious that she was still having so much fun on the beach yesterday… she practically dove straight into the sea!

“Xin Xin,” Lu Lan spoke softly, concerned for her daughter, “What’s wrong with you today?”

Shao Cixin raised her head. “Huh?”

Shao Heng said, “You don’t seem to be in the mood to play today.”

Shao Cixin told him very honestly, “It’s because the Gaokao results are out today!”

Lu Lan: “?”

Shao Heng: “?”

Lu Lan said, “Xin Xin, you haven’t even taken the Gaokao yet, so why are you concerned about the Gaokao results?”

Shao Cixin said, “I haven’t taken the exam yet, but Wen Zhihan has taken the exam. I’m concerned about her.

“Hey, Mom, Dad, Sister Zhihan has helped me so much in my studies, so shouldn’t I care about her results?”

“We also made a promise to get into Fengcheng University together!”

Although Shao Heng and Lu Lan had not met Wen Zhihan, they knew that she was helping their daughter, so they had a good impression of her.

Now that they had heard the reason for Shao Cixin’s absent-mindedness, the couple’s doubts disappeared.

“So that’s it.” Shao Heng nodded. “I almost thought you were in love.”

Shao Cixin: “?”

When Lu Lan heard her husband, she smiled softly and asked, “Does Xin Xin like anyone?”

They weren’t ignorant parents either.

Falling in love in high school was not a problem, yet falling behind in your life because of love was something else entirely.

But as long as a child can distinguish between her priorities and stay measured, as well as have her own worldview and know what she should do, then her parents don’t have to obstruct her or bother the other people involved.

Shao Cixin was full of righteousness. “No.”

She restrained some of her arrogance in front of her parents. “I can’t fall in love now. Studying is more important, Fengcheng University is more important—no one can compare to Fengcheng University!”

Shao Heng and Lu Lan looked at each other and smiled without saying anything. It was a good thing that their child was motivated.

“Then you wait for your Sister Zhihan’s news, okay? Dad, let’s order the food. Xin Xin, do you want some juice?”

“Yes, yes, yes!”

A few minutes later, Shao Cixin’s screen finally lit up.

It was news from Wen Zhihan. The message was very brief, just three words—

[Senior Sister Wen]: I got in.

After a while, another message came through.

[Senior Sister Wen]: The admissions office already called me.

Shao Cixin’s eyes filled with happiness, and she felt elation as if she had been admitted to Fengcheng University herself.

She pointed at her phone, saying with a look of joy, “Fengcheng University! Mom, Dad, the teachers from Fengcheng University called her!”

Wen Zhihan had been called in advance by the admissions office to inquire about her intention to enroll. Shao Cixin could already imagine how good her Gaokao results were, and her admiration for her senior sister increased by several levels.

Lu Lan couldn’t help but laugh. “Seeing you like this, I thought the teachers from Fengcheng University were calling you.”

Shao Heng smiled softly. “Our Xin Xin isn’t lacking either. Maybe Xin Xin will be next.”

Shao Cixin started to toot her own horn again. “Dad is right. Maybe next year it will be my turn to answer the call from the admissions office.”

Lu Lan did not expose her daughter’s shamelessness. “Okay, then our Xin Xin must also work hard.”

Shao Cixin nodded firmly.

She planned on doing exactly that. She would not break her promise—she would definitely make it to Fengcheng University!

After this trip was over, she would return to reading textbooks, ignite her passion for studying, and fight for the Gaokao!

The trip was over, and Shao Cixin boarded the flight home.

When she returned, the first thing she did was to ask Wen Zhihan out to meet her.

She gave Wen Zhihan a ceramic smiling Shiba Inu table decoration.

The little Shiba Inu had squinted eyes and a grin at the corners of its mouth. The workmanship was cute, and its smile was so contagious that people couldn’t help but curl up their lips after seeing it.

“A gift,” Shao Cixin said, “I saw it when I was away. I thought it was cute, so I bought it.

“Congratulations on getting admitted to your first-choice university. I’m so happy for you!”

Shao Cixin’s eyes were curved and the corners of her lips were raised. Her smile was bright and cute, just like the little Shiba Inu in Wen Zhihan’s hand.

Wen Zhihan lowered her eyes filled with happiness. She carefully tucked away the ceramic Shiba Inu. “Thank you, I will take care of it well.”

After the gift was delivered, Shao Cixin went to leave.

Wen Zhihan was a little surprised. “You’re going so soon?”

Shao Cixin said, “Yeah, I’m just here to give you a gift.”

Wen Zhihan: “…”

She was a bit disappointed.

She thought Shao Cixin was here to see her.

But the next second, she was coaxed by Shao Cixin’s words.

“And I have to go back to do my homework. I must work hard if I want to attend Fengcheng University with you.”

Her tone made it sound obvious.

It was obvious that she needed to work hard, and it was obvious that she planned to go to Fengcheng University with Wen Zhihan.

When Wen Zhihan heard this, she remembered their agreement. She smiled again, feeling much better.

“Go on. I’ll be waiting for you at Fengcheng University.”

—Waiting for you with my heart that loves you.

The school year began.

Shao Cixin was now a third year.

But this time, Wen Zhihan couldn’t accompany her on most Saturdays anymore.

She was required to participate in military training[3] at the beginning of her freshman year[4]. Afterward, other situations required her attention. One thing after another, Wen Zhihan became entangled, making it impossible for her to find free time easily.

But she still promised to talk to Shao Cixin over the phone.

Shao Cixin was actually a little confused.

Was university life so busy?

Was it already so busy during her freshman year?

Would it also be like this in the future?

Later, she learned the answer.

Wen Zhihan was not busy with her life as a first year but with Guanglan’s work.

—Wen Xingyun had begun to gradually teach her how to handle the company’s affairs. It was obvious that he wanted his daughter to inherit Guanglan.

After Shao Cixin learned about this, she no longer thought about studying with Wen Zhihan on Saturdays.

Wen Zhihan was already studying on one side and working on another. The fact that she still found time to answer Shao Cixin’s questions was already very generous.

If Shao Cixin still forced Wen Zhihan to come out and accompany her, it would be too unreasonable and ignorant on her part.

What’s more, they were just ordinary friends. She had no right to ask Wen Zhihan to do this.

Out of consideration for her senior sister, she learned to refuse Wen Zhihan when the college freshman asked her if she wanted to go out on a Saturday.

She began to ask other student tyrants about the questions she didn’t know. If no one could answer her, then she would ask the teacher. She gradually tried to decrease her dependence on Wen Zhihan, just relying on the notebook that she had gifted her.

As a result, the two people began seeing each other less and less.

Wen Zhihan was keenly aware of this matter.

She felt like…Shao Cixin didn’t want to see her.

Did she find out about her feelings?

Or did she find someone she liked and had no time to talk to her anymore?

The answer to all of her questions could only be found in Shao Cixin, which made Wen Zhihan feel very upset.

The more inexplicable love was, the more difficult it was to figure out, and the more torturous it became.

On one Saturday night, she decided to directly ask Shao Cixin what she was thinking.

[Wen Zhihan]: Cixin, recently…

[Wen Zhihan]: You don’t want to see me?

Unexpectedly, Shao Cixin responded in an instant.

[Cixin]: That’s not true.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to talk to her.

Wen Zhihan was stunned.

[Wen Zhihan]: If it’s not, then why aren’t you asking me to go out on Saturdays to help you review?

[Cixin]: Because I don’t want to make you tired.

[Wen Zhihan]: ?

[Cixin]: Haven’t you started learning to take care of the family business?

[Cixin]: You have to study, take care of the family business, and go to class. It would be too much if you also took the time to come and review with me in person.

[Cixin]: Asking questions on the phone too. This is actually not necessary. I can always go find others or solve the question myself. You don’t need these questions to review now.

[Cixin]: So you should rest well. I can review by myself. I will work hard to see you at FU.

Wen Zhihan was surprised when she read Shao Cixin’s words.

So the reason for their lack of meetings was because Shao Cixin wanted to give her some consideration.

But Wen Zhihan wasn’t actually suffering that badly.

Wen Xingyun had asked her to go step by step and learn slowly. He didn’t arrange any high intensity learning tasks for her.

After all, she still had to take classes and complete four years of college.

But what Shao Cixin said was also true.

For example, it was very hard to be separated from the person you liked. Not seeing such a person could also be considered “suffering.”

[Wen Zhihan]: Rely on me.

[Wen Zhihan]: If Cixin could rely on me, I’d be very happy.

This was the sentence closest to her heart, and the nearest she’d come to confessing.

But Shao Cixin still didn’t think about it like that.

She was left confused.

[Cixin]: Why?

[Cixin]: Do you like the feeling of others relying on you?

Wen Zhihan saw Shao Cixin’s uncertainty and impulsively replied, [You are different from others.]

[Cixin]: What’s the difference?

A bucket of ice water fell on Wen Zhihan’s emotions.

That was too close. She was almost exposed.

Fortunately, she knew Shao Cixin well enough now to hide her feelings.

[Wen Zhihan]: Because we are friends, and because Cixin is a uniquely young and beautiful girl, more special than anyone else.

[Wen Zhihan]: Isn’t this true?

These words shot straight into Shao Cixin’s heart, and she felt extremely touched.

That’s right. They were friends. Friends could rely on each other.

And it was true that she was a young and beautiful girl. To be relied on by someone like her was a privilege!

[Cixin]: Okay, okay, I understand what you mean.

[Cixin]: Then you should wait until I go to college before you let me rely on you. In the meantime, you must become a senior who can protect me!

After all, she still felt sorry for Wen Zhihan’s rest time.

But it was okay. They had agreed on the future.

And in the future, there would be countless opportunities for them to meet.

[Wen Zhihan]: Okay, I’ll be waiting for you at Fengcheng University.

The next summer, it was finally Shao Cixin’s turn to check her Gaokao scores and Wen Zhihan’s turn to care about the other person’s results.

[Senior Sister Wen]: Have you checked?

Shao Cixin glanced at the web page, which was still spinning around, feeling tired.

She suddenly understood Wen Zhihan’s mood when she was checking her own Gaokao results.

[Shao Cixin]: Too many people, I’m stuck. I’ll check again later.

After sending the message, she put down her phone, stood up, and took a shower. She burned a stick of incense in her heart and silently prayed for the blessings of her ancestors.

—She hoped that the results would be as she wished, please!

Twenty minutes later, she rushed back to the computer, refreshed the web page, and entered her admission ticket number.

The loading circle began rotating again.

But the next second, the results page unexpectedly appeared in front of her.

Shao Cixin’s heart suddenly tightened, and she covered her eyes in fear.

She slowly opened two slits between her fingers and carefully moved her eyes to the screen little by little—

“Ahhhhhhhh—”

Shao Cixin rushed out of her room.

“Mom, mommmm!”

“Dadddddddd!!”

She shouted and ran down the stairs, her eyes full of ecstasy.

Lu Lan felt a suspicion in her heart. She stood up and looked at her daughter in surprise. “It’s out?”

Afraid of putting pressure on their daughter, the two parents hadn’t dared to stay and watch with Shao Cixin.

Shao Cixin nodded crazily. “Fengcheng University is a guarantee!”

Her score was above Fengcheng University’s highest admission percentile in recent years, and this year’s questions had been difficult, so the percentile might even be lowered to reflect the grading curve.

Both Wen Zhihan and her class teacher told her that her score was high enough.

She could have a good holiday.

But even more importantly, she was going to Fengcheng University!

In the blink of an eye, the day of the freshman commencement arrived.

Shao Heng took off work to specially accompany his wife and daughter to her new campus.

The scenery at Fengcheng University was quiet and peaceful. It stretched over a large area, and the tree-lined avenues were filled with students.

The spacious gymnasium was the check-in point for new students, and it was run by the professors and student council members.

After a freshman completed the procedures here, an upperclassman would come pick them up and take them to the dormitories. The upperclassman was also responsible for acting as a tour guide, explaining various buildings along the way, which was very kind.

But it was at the first check-in point that Shao Cixin saw a very familiar person—Xu Zhouzhou.

Xu Zhouzhou had also joined the student council in college, and she even became the head of a certain department. Upon seeing her again, she still recognized Shao Cixin.

“Junior sister, welcome to FU.” Xu Zhouzhou sat at her table and said with a smile.

“Thank you, senior sister.” Shao Cixin was very well-behaved.

After they completed the work at hand, Xu Zhouzhou raised her finger and pointed to the person behind Shao Cixin. “This upperclassman is responsible for taking you to your dorm. You can go with her.”

As soon as the words fell—almost at the same time—a very familiar voice called, “Cixin.”

A beautiful face suddenly flashed through Shao Cixin’s mind, and she turned to look behind her in surprise.

The next second, her body instinctively ran over. “Senior sister! Are you here to take care of the new students today?”

Wen Zhihan curved her eyes and said in a soft tone, “You could say that.”

Without giving Shao Cixin a chance to react, she changed the subject. “Let’s go, I’ll take you to the dormitories and show you where the academic buildings are.”

“Okay—wait, let me introduce you to my parents first.”

With that being said, Shao Cixin hooked her arm around Wen Zhihan’s and pulled her towards Shao Heng and Lu Lan, who were standing away from the crowd.

“Dad, Mom, this is the Zhihan jiejie I’m always talking about.”

Zhihan jiejie[5]?

Wen Zhihan turned away and coughed lightly, raising her hand to hide the smile forming on her lips.

It turned out that Shao Cixin referred to her so intimately in front of her parents…

“Hello, uncle and aunt.” Wen Zhihan began to show off her gentle and courteous side, trying her best to make a good first impression.

Meanwhile, back inside the freshman check-in center.

When the freshman behind Shao Cixin saw Wen Zhihan leading her away, he couldn’t help but feel envious.

He turned to look at Xu Zhouzhou. “Senior sister, is that senior sister with the blue eyes also a member of the student council?”

Xu Zhouzhou gazed up at him, then lowered her eyes and picked up her pen. “No.”

If it weren’t for a certain junior sister among the freshmen today, that person would be too unmotivated to walk over and act as a free tour guide.

Xu Zhouzhou still didn’t know if Wen Zhihan even started chasing her precious junior sister yet, much less if she could succeed within the next four years at university…

The author (热到昏厥) has something to say:

Meet the parents (bush)[6]

She hasn’t started?

Sing it together: If you peel her heart layer by layer, you’ll find—I’m sorry, it’s all a routine!

The lottery is drawn, the lottery is drawn. The European Emperor is born again[7]!

Speaking of which, I feel like I still need to write a few more chapters for this IF story, but I also promised that I would write another IF story…To be honest, I originally thought I could finish this whole story within these chapters, but now it feels very unlikely [Stupified.JPG]

So I’ll ask you guys if you would like to see another IF story (Cixin not dying from her car accident in her previous life). If you don’t want to see it, then I won’t write it. Otherwise, I’ll write too much and worry that everyone won’t like it QAQ…

[1]In China, college is generally considered the time where you’ve “made it” and you can finally freely relax and enjoy your youth. It’s significantly less serious than high school.

[2] Shao Cixin once again refers to Wen Zhihan as “学霸” (xué bà).

[3] In China, students are required to complete a compulsory military training course upon entering college. This is usually their first course, and it is fully immersive—you won’t be taking any other courses during these first few weeks of strict living schedules, housekeeping standards, drill routines, and lectures, though according to some of my relatives, it’s also just treated by many people as “exercise.”

[4] Even though college and high school years are simply differentiated in Chinese by terms such as “高一” (first year in high school) and “大一” (first year in college), I’ll refer to the years in college by their Western names (freshman, sophomore, etc.) to replicate a sense of difference in English.

[5] Wen Zhihan is reacting to “之寒姐姐” (Zhihan jiějiě), literally “older sister” Zhihan, which is considered more intimate and “cute” than Shao Cixin’s typical reference “学姐” (Senior Sister)
