Chapter 51 – Kissing

Shao Cixin knew that Wen Zhihan could act, but she didn’t expect her to be so good at it.

Was this the result of doing your homework in advance?

Then Wen Zhihan was too good! If she kept on studying, she could consider entering the entertainment industry herself!

Shao Cixin suddenly envied Wen Zhihan’s brain. If she had Wen Zhihan’s brain, then she wouldn’t have needed to worry about not being able to test into the same school Wen Zhihan went to. Although her final results weren’t bad, Shao Cixin was someone who always wanted to reach higher and walk in even better places.

And if it were Wen Zhihan she went to college with, maybe she would’ve liked Wen Zhihan instead of Wen Yu, so she wouldn’t have suffered so much in love.

Although Wen Zhihan may not have agreed to start a relationship with her, she would have at least kept her distance from Shao Cixin when she rejected her, so that Shao Cixin would have no illusions about her chances of getting together with Wen Zhihan.

Wen Yu couldn’t do that.

She asked Shao Cixin to go out for drinks and coffee time and time again, showed her a vulnerable side, and even offered to date her, giving Shao Cixin the illusion that all of her hardships were rewarded, making her fall step by step.

In other words, Wen Yu was selfish and irresponsible, a scumbag!

The person in front of her was better, Shao Cixin thought assertively.

No wonder Chen Suling still liked Wen Zhihan so much after she was rejected.

Wen Zhihan saw Shao Cixin’s face cycle through a series of emotions, showing surprise, envy, regret, and even, for a moment, confusion.

What was Shao Cixin thinking? It didn’t look like she was angry with Wen Zhihan?

Remembering that she was still in the middle of recording a show, Shao Cixin quickly came back to her senses and hugged Wen Zhihan tightly. She buried her face in the crook of Wen Zhihan’s neck, hiding her expression from the camera.

“I’m sorry, I’ll spend more time with you in the future, okay?” she said.

“Okay,” Wen Zhihan said softly into her ear.

Wen Zhihan hugged Shao Cixin and gently patted her back, her eyes filled with tender love.

If all of this were real, how great would it be?

But even now, being able to hold Shao Cixin, listening to her say sweet words and pretending to be her wife—even if all of it was fake—Wen Zhihan’s heart was satisfied.

After all, she used to think that she would never even have the possibility in this life…

The two went back and forth, and the director couldn’t help but find their relationship adorable.

To the audience, the guests’ chemistry with each other was much more important than how many questions they answered. But since the director thought Shao Cixin and Wen Zhihan had great on-screen chemistry, he asked a few more questions to accumulate material.

The two answered fluently and cooperated tacitly, successfully passing their first time pretending to be loving wives on broadcast.

When the staff were organizing and packing their equipment after the interview, Shao Cixin took Wen Zhihan’s arm and led her toward the balcony of Wen Zhihan’s study.

The study was where Wen Zhihan worked, so it had been designated as a restricted area. There were much fewer cameras in this room compared to the others, and the director had also signed an agreement ensuring that the production team couldn’t capture footage of Wen Zhihan’s computer screen.

No cameras had been placed on the balcony of the study room, which made it suitable as a location for the two of them to openly have discussions with each other.

“Wen Zhihan.” No longer restrained by the filming process, Shao Cixin let go of Wen Zhihan’s hand and said, “You’re so good at acting, aren’t you?”

Wen Zhihan looked at her calmly. “Hmm?”

Shao Ci began gesturing as she talked. “Just now, when you were trying to get me to stay in Fengcheng longer…Wow, to be honest, I almost fell for it.

“I declare that the business world’s Oscar for Best Actress goes to you, President Wen Zhihan.”

As Wen Zhihan suspected, Shao Cixin had no doubts about her “acting.” She looked at the person who was praising her and couldn’t help but feel helpless and amused.

People tended to be greedy, including her, Wen Zhihan.

She had originally only wanted to marry Shao Cixin and, for once, become her wife. It didn’t matter whether Shao Cixin loved her or not. Wen Zhihan just thought of it as fulfilling her own selfish desires.

But the closer she got to Shao Cixin, the more her selfishness grew. Like an endlessly stretching vine, she cautiously and involuntarily approached the line between them, thinking about crossing it all the time.

She wanted to catch Shao Cixin’s heart and all her love.

She wanted to be her real wife.

So she started testing, getting closer, trying to please her in her own way, trying to open her locked heart.

But it turned out that this lock was very strong and hard to break open.

There was still a long way to go between them.

“I’ll do a good job if you pay me.” Wen Zhihan raised her hand and gently stroked Shao Cixin’s face, smiling. “As long as you’re satisfied.”

She didn’t have superb acting skills, but she did happen to have a heart that loved Shao Cixin.

Shao Cixin looked at Wen Zhihan.

Wen Zhihan’s eyes reflected Shao Cixin’s appearance. Her gaze was also very gentle, shining brightly like stars in the sky—like stars dedicated to her and her alone.

Shao Cixin’s heart suddenly started beating faster for a second.

At that moment, she couldn’t help but selfishly want Wen Zhihan’s beautiful eyes all for herself, having only her reflection in them.

Don’t look at Chen Suling, don’t look at anyone else, just her…

The next second, she fell back into reality. The lake in her heart was completely disturbed.

How could she think like this?

Why would Wen Zhihan only look at her?

She couldn’t be…No, definitely not!

It must be because Wen Zhihan was too beautiful, and she liked beautiful things, so she couldn’t control her own thoughts!

That’s right, that’s right.

Just like she always said, Wen Zhihan was so beautiful—it was easy to have accidents happen!

Shao Cixin shook her head vigorously, quickly throwing away the messy thoughts in her head and finding an excuse to escape.

—Calm down, Shao Cixin, you can’t tarnish your pure contractual relationship with dirty feelings!

Wen Zhihan stood in place, puzzled as she watched Shao Cixin suddenly leave in a hurry.

What was going on?

The first episode of Post-Marriage Love Diary officially began filming on the day after the interview.

Before the filming started, Shao Cixin spent a night doing some mental construction, emptying all her messy and dirty thoughts before going to bed.

She didn’t actually like Wen Zhihan, she was just captivated by the other woman’s beauty. There was no shame in being blinded by beauty!

When she woke up renewed in spirit, she would be Wen Zhihan’s little sweetie again—and definitely without any real feelings!

The morning sun was bright, and the birds were singing on the branches.

As the day went on, they would have to treat each other as their real wives and act intimately and naturally.

Remembering this, Shao Cixin got out of bed and went to find Wen Zhihan in her study before her eyes were even fully open.

Wen Zhihan handled work emails every morning, through rain or shine, and Shao Cixin knew this very well.

As Shao Cixin expected, Wen Zhihan was dealing with work when she (SCX) entered.

When Wen Zhihan looked up, she saw Shao Cixin walking into the study with squinted eyes, entirely bypassing the desk and coming straight toward her.

Wen Zhihan instinctively opened her arms.

Shao Cixin naturally sat down on her chair, which was large enough to accommodate two people. She tilted her head and nestled it into the crook of Wen Zhihan’s neck, closing her eyes.

This was the first time they had cuddled with each other outside the bedroom after waking up. Although it was the first time, in the lens of the camera, the behavior of both parties was so natural it was irrefutable.

One was delicate, the other was spoiled.

The main purpose of the show was to record the relationship between the two parties, so there was no special theme—at least not yet.

Shao Cixin didn’t need to work hard to complete any tasks, so she felt much more relaxed. She was still sleepy, and she didn’t know what to say, so she just stayed in Wen Zhihan’s arms and accompanied her as she worked.

Wen Zhihan was very happy that Shao Cixin acted so sticky with her.

This was the benefit of being on a show. Normally, such events wouldn’t happen.

Seeing that Shao Cixin was still very sleepy, Wen Zhihan couldn’t help but smile and pat her head. “Why don’t you continue to sleep?”

Shao Cixin yawned while raising her hand and pointing at the camera in the study, accusing expressionlessly, “They won’t let me sleep.”

Wen Zhihan laughed when she saw this. “Why don’t they let you sleep?”

Shao Cixin retracted her hand. “We have to film a program. I’m afraid that if I continue to sleep, a day will pass by without me realizing it. That would be so embarrassing…”

The staff who was monitoring the camera remotely: “?”

Thank you very much for remembering to think about our program…

Wen Zhihan just smiled and continued to pat Shao Cixin’s head.

Shao Cixin felt comfortable in her embrace and unconsciously snuggled closer.

“Have you eaten breakfast?” she asked in a slurred voice.

“Not yet,” Wen Zhihan replied.

“Oh, what a coincidence, I haven’t either…” Shao Cixin’s eyes were still closed.

The staff members: “…”

What a coincidence?!

What kind of comedy queen was this?

Wen Zhihan couldn’t help but laugh again.

She decided to multitask. While checking her emails, she asked, “What does Cixin want to eat?”

Shao Cixin thought for a while, but the meeting she held in her head didn’t come to a satisfactory conclusion. She suggested, “How about we go downstairs and see what’s out there? I can’t think of anything right now…”

Hearing this, Wen Zhihan stroked her back. “Then go brush your teeth and change clothes. We’ll leave now.”

Shao Cixin nodded dazedly and murmured “hmm” in confusion. She opened her eyes drowsily, turning to look at Wen Zhihan’s computer screen, and asked, “Have you finished your work?”

“It can wait,” Wen Zhihan said, “Let’s have breakfast first.”

“Oh…”

Shao Cixin shrank back into Wen Zhihan’s arms again and yawned widely. It was obvious that she was still sleepy.

After a few seconds, she snapped out of it and obediently went to brush her teeth and wash her face. Although she was still sleepy, she couldn’t starve her goddess. Otherwise, she would be too much of a failure as her little sweetie!

By the time she finished washing, Wen Zhihan had already changed clothes.

The whole person looked refreshing and graceful wearing a simple white sweatshirt over trousers, her long hair tied into a neat ponytail.

Shao Cixin glanced at Wen Zhihan twice, then walked over decisively and said in a coquettish tone, “I’ve finished brushing my teeth, give me a kiss.”

Little sweetie, little sweetie…Of course, she had to be sweet!

She didn’t believe she wasn’t being sweet enough!

Wen Zhihan looked at Shao Cixin like this and felt like she couldn’t get enough of her.

Why was she so cute?

What reason did Wen Zhihan have not to like her?

Thank the heavens for allowing her to meet her and thank the heavens for giving her a chance to become so close to her.

Wen Zhihan hugged Shao Cixin’s waist and gave her the first gentle and passionate kiss of the morning. It resembled a dragonfly dipping into the water, a breeze in a light brush, and they didn’t become too entangled with each other.

Shao Cixin smiled sweetly, kissed Wen Zhihan again, and then turned around to go change her clothes.

Afraid that Wen Zhihan would starve, she didn’t even put on makeup, relying on the confidence of her natural beauty to go out with her wife.

They decided to visit a breakfast restaurant outside the community and drink wonton soup.

After they were done, they would go for a walk in a nearby park.

There were exactly two empty tables in the breakfast restaurant. Shao Cixin and Wen Zhihan took one table, while the other table was reserved for the cameraman who was responsible for taking their outdoor shots.

Shao Cixin asked the cameraman brother to set up his camera, then invited him to have breakfast and told him not to worry about them.

Thanks to her, a variety show veteran, the cameraman managed to have a comfortable meal.

Their breakfast was simple and warm.

Wen Zhihan looked up and saw something stuck on the corner of Shao Cixin’s lips.

She took a napkin, stretched out her arm, and gently wiped it away. Then she continued to calmly drink her soy milk.

The whole process was so smooth that the single dog brother next to them felt envious.

They were so natural, so real.

These two were definitely a legit couple, otherwise he would eat the table in front of him!

Normally, Shao Cixin would subconsciously avoid a suddenly outstretched hand, but this was not the case with Wen Zhihan.

She knew in her heart that Wen Zhihan would not hurt her, and she was used to Wen Zhihan’s presence and being with her intimately.

Although they were very close, they were friends, and friends were naturally more intimate towards each other than with outsiders.

But suddenly, she began to feel curious about something.

If Wen Zhihan already treated a friend like her so well, when she found someone she liked, would she treat them even better?

In her previous life, Shao Cixin never knew if Wen Zhihan had a lover. Because she died too early, she didn’t have the opportunity to see Wen Zhihan fall in love or get married.

She didn’t know if it was possible in this life either.

If it was possible, she couldn’t imagine what this other person would be like.

She hoped that this person was good enough to be worthy of Wen Zhihan!

Wen Zhihan ate breakfast in silence.

Today, she also wanted to know one thing—when would Cixin like her?
