Lu Yunshu couldn’t wait any longer.
When it came to Jin Hanshuang, she was always impatient. She was eager to know her, to understand her, and to have her.
“I haven’t decided yet,” Jin Hanshuang said. “Not today.”
Lu Yunshu asked, “Why not?”
Jin Hanshuang replied, “It’s too soon. I don’t want to rush anything. Besides, I watched you grow up. We haven’t even been dating for a month, and I’m already thinking of taking you to bed? No, that’s not good.”
It wasn’t that Jin Hanshuang hadn’t done it before or that she had no desires, but when it came to Lu Yunshu, her pace naturally slowed down. She didn’t want to rush into this relationship. She didn’t want every step of it to be so fast and fleeting.
She wanted to savor every moment of being with Lu Yunshu, like sipping water slowly over time.
It was Lu Yunshu’s first relationship, after all.
Jin Hanshuang wanted to teach her well.
“Let’s take it slow. Don’t rush, we have all the time in the world.”
Jin Hanshuang wrapped her arms around Lu Yunshu’s waist, her eyes as gentle as waves.
“Okay? Baby.”
Lu Yunshu, who had been quietly listening, suddenly lit up.
She hugged Jin Hanshuang. “You called me baby.”
Jin Hanshuang cupped Lu Yunshu’s face.
She chuckled. “You’re happy just because I called you baby?”
“Yes.” Lu Yunshu buried her face in Jin Hanshuang’s neck, holding her tightly. “And I’m happy that you want to take things slow with me.”
It wasn’t the first time Jin Hanshuang had said there was plenty of time.
But it was the first time Lu Yunshu truly believed Jin Hanshuang’s words.
How wonderful that they had a long future together.
How wonderful Jin Hanshuang liked her so much.
“Yes, a long-lasting relationship.” Jin Hanshuang kissed Lu Yunshu’s hair. “My Yunshu will have everything she wants.”
Lu Yunshu laughed. “I really love it when you call me that.”
Jin Hanshuang said, “If my baby likes it, then I’ll call her baby many times in the future.”
Lu Yunshu said, “I’m doomed, I like it even more now.”
My Yunshu, my little baby, my little puppy… Lu Yunshu would never get tired of hearing these words leave Jin Hanshuang’s mouth.
Jin Hanshuang laughed and showered Lu Yunshu with kisses.
Lu Yunshu said, “There’s only one person Hanshuang can call ‘baby’ and that’s me.”
“Of course! Why? Are you afraid I’ll call someone else that?”
“Mm. Hanshuang’s too popular. Not only is she kind and gentle, but she also has a lot of pretty girls around. I’m afraid you’ll call them ‘baby’ too.”
Jin Hanshuang couldn’t help but tease Lu Yunshu. “That’s true. I am very kind and gentle. Maybe I should call one of my pretty girls ‘baby’ the next time I see them?”
“You’re so cruel.” Lu Yunshu, still nestled in her shoulder, sounded pitiful. “I’m going to call the police to arrest Jin Hanshuang.”
“Oh? And then what?”
“I’ll lock Jin Hanshuang up in Lu Yunshu’s house. Then you won’t be able to go see other pretty girls. You’ll only be able to look at two beauties.”
“Which two beauties?”
“One is Lu Yunshu, and the other is Jin Hanshuang.”
Jin Hanshuang was left speechless. Even a police arrest turned into a way to compliment her!
“You are really incredible, hahahahaha—”
Lu Yunshu, smiling brightly, wrapped her arms around Jin Hanshuang and carried her into their shared room.
Qin Xiaoliu decided to organize another party at home.
She invited the usual culprits.
Not only did Jin Hanshuang and Du Mengying come, but so did Bai Lu, who was interested in Jin Hanshuang.
Unlike last time, Bai Lu didn’t need special attention. She had successfully ingratiated herself into Qin Xiaolu’s circle of friends.
Of course, if Jin Hanshuang was still willing to give her a little extra care, she certainly wouldn’t say no to being doted on.
But this time, Jin Hanshuang clearly had no attention to spare for her.
Jin Hanshuang was taking a photo of the dinner gathering and sending it to Lu Yunshu.
This was the second time Bai Lu had seen her do that.
And she had only met Jin Hanshuang twice in total.
There was definitely something going on.
Bai Lu asked, “Who are you messaging?”
Jin Hanshuang was staring at her phone.
[Lu Yunshu]: Have fun, baby. See you tonight.
[Jin Hanshuang]: Okay~
She put away her phone and smiled politely at Bai Lu. “My girlfriend.”
Bai Lu’s expression froze. “Jiejie has a girlfriend?”
Then she asked, “Were you texting your girlfriend too last time?”
Jin Hanshuang smiled faintly. “She wasn’t my girlfriend yet back then.”
Bai Lu understood. She sighed with a hint of regret. “What a shame. I came too late and missed my chance.”
Jin Hanshuang gave a light smile. “It’s not a shame. We can still be friends.”
Bai Lu mirrored her smile and nodded sweetly. Yes, we can still be friends.”
The party ended soon after their conversation.
Qin Xiaoliu walked each guest to the door.
But just as Jin Hanshuang and Du Mengying were about to leave, Qin Xiaoliu suddenly tugged on Jin Hanshuang’s arm.
She leaned in with a melon-eating expression. “Bai Lu said you have a girlfriend. Is it true?”
Du Mengying also stopped walking and turned to look at Jin Hanshuang.
Jin Hanshuang laughed. “It is.”
Qin Xiaoliu asked, “Who is it? Do I know her?”
Jin Hanshuang replied, “You do, but you’re not that close.”
Qin Xiaoliu said, “Ah?”
Now she was really intrigued. “When are you bringing her over so we can get to know each other better?”
“Pfft…” Du Mengying made a strange noise beside them. “I’m really afraid that she will scare you to death.”
Qin Xiaoliu was even more curious now.
She turned to Jin Hanshuang with burning eyes. “Bring her here quickly so I can be scared to death already!”
Jin Hanshuang laughed with her friends.
She gently patted Qin Xiaoliu’s shoulder. “Okay~ I will definitely bring her to meet you guys in the future.”
Then she turned and tugged Du Mengying’s arm. “Alright, we’re leaving. Bye!”
After saying their goodbyes, Jin Hanshuang and Du Mengying entered the next elevator.
Since they were alone, they spoke freely.
Du Mengying asked, “Will there be a future?”
Jin Hanshuang said, “Who knows?”
Du Mengying raised an eyebrow. “Seems like someone’s fallen pretty hard.”
As Jin Hanshuang watched their reflection in the elevator mirror, she couldn’t help but think of every moment she had spent with Lu Yunshu, along with their quiet promise of a long-lasting relationship.
She smiled slowly. “Seems so. Who told her to be so cute?”
Du Mengying nodded sagely. “Mhm, at first she was just a little cute and now you’re already acting like a dog for her.”
Jin Hanshuang: “…”
She couldn’t help but laugh.
Hard to argue with that.
In early November, autumn ended and winter arrived in A City.
In the morning, Lu Yunshu was clinging on to her girlfriend in their closet.
Her forehead touched Jin Hanshuang’s, eyes closed like she hadn’t gotten enough sleep.
She said she didn’t want to go to work.
She said she didn’t want to leave her girlfriend.
After all that whining, she still obediently put on the coat her girlfriend bought for her.
It was a warm black windbreaker that went well with anything.
She really liked it and often wore it to work.
Jin Hanshuang kissed Lu Yunshu on the cheek. “Our dear President Lu, working so hard.”
She helped Lu Yunshu put on a beige knitted scarf. “It’s getting cold. Stay warm. Don’t get sick.”
“Mm.” Lu Yunshu grabbed the other end of the long scarf and looped it around Jin Hanshuang’s neck. They made eye contact.
Lu Yunshu, finally cheering up a little, kissed Jin Hanshuang’s lips. “You stay warm too. Don’t get sick. Am I going over to your place tonight?”
“Yeah, I’m going home first. Come over later.” Jin Hanshuang kissed her back. “See you~”
Lu Yunshu was reluctant to let her go.
After a while, she finally made up her mind to go to work.
“I’m leaving.” She picked up her handbag and began walking out of the closet.
Just as Jin Hanshuang was about to follow her, Lu Yunshu suddenly turned back.
The beautiful President Lu, wearing her captivating gold-rimmed glasses, looked mature, capable, and elegant.
Then Lu Yunshu calmly opened a pocket inside her windbreaker. “This one’s bigger. Try it.”
Jin Hanshuang blinked. Then she smiled.
She walked over and tucked both hands inside Lu Yunshu’s pocket.
She nodded. “Yes, very spacious. I can fit two firsts into this one.”
Lu Yunshu said, “Too bad I still can’t fit Hanshuang inside.”
“Oh no, such a shame~”
“Hanshuang, reach in a little more.”
“Hmm?”
Jin Hanshuang did as she was told and found two foreign objects inside.
One felt like candy, the other…like an earring.
She took them out and, sure enough, there was orange candy and a beautiful, sparkling moon-shaped stud earring.
Lu Yunshu raised her hand and shook the six-pointed star bracelet on her waist, a gift from Jin Hanshuang. Now, she was giving Jin Hanshuang a moon.
She said, “You are the moon to my stars.
“Happy three-month anniversary, baby.”
She smiled tenderly and kissed Jin Hanshuang on the lips.
Jin Hanshuang was deeply moved.
This wasn’t the first time Lu Yunshu had given her a gift.
She’d given her a gift on their one-month anniversary, their two-month anniversary, and now their three-month anniversary.
It was easy to tell how much Lu Yunshu cherished their relationship.
Jin Hanshuang hugged her with a full heart. “Happy three-month anniversary, baby~”
Jin Hanshuang also bought Lu Yunshu a three-month anniversary gift.
She gave it to her that evening.
It was a star-shaped earring.
Lu Yunshu was the only star to her moon.
The younger woman saw the star that paired perfectly with the moon and her mood instantly lifted. Any unpleasantness lingering from work vanished into thin air.
She put on the stud earring and asked, “Does it look good?”
Jin Hanshuang said, “It’s perfect. I have such good taste. My Yunshu is so beautiful~”
Lu Yunshu smiled and hugged her.
They held each other and slowly spun in circles, childish and sweet.
“Are you tired from work today?” Jin Hanshuang asked.
“Yeah, I need lots of hugs from Hanshuang.”
“Okay~ Jiejie will cuddle you to sleep tonight.”
“I also need lots of kisses from Hanshuang.”
Their eyes met again, then fell on each other’s lips.
An unspoken message passed between them.
Eyes filled with ambiguity and breaths became tangled with their lips and tongues.
They gradually melted into the tenderness of the winter night.
Until a sudden ringtone broke the moment—it was Jin Hanshuang’s phone.
Jin Hanshuang sat up from the sofa and exchanged a look with Lu Yunshu.
She reached for her phone.
She wanted to see who was so tactless.
—It was Shen Wenxin.
Jin Hanshuang: “?”
Lu Yunshu, seeing the contact name: “?”
Jin Hanshuang cleared her throat and stood up to answer. “Hello, Wenxin?”
“Hello?” Shen Wenxin’s clear voice came through the receiver. “Mom, are you home?”
“What’s wrong?”
“I think I left a document at your place. I’m downstairs. Just letting you know first.”
Shen Wenxin and Jin Hanshuang had an unspoken agreement that she would call first before visiting her stepmother’s place.
The moment she heard that Shen Wenxin was coming up, Jin Hanshuang instinctively looked at Lu Yunshu and quickly replied, “You don’t have to come up. I can bring it down to you.”
But the voice on the phone said, “It’s fine. I’ll just come up and grab it. I’m getting in the elevator now. Okay, I’m hanging up.”
The call ended.
Shen Wenxin stepped into the elevator and pressed Jin Hanshuang’s floor number.
The elevator began to ascend.
