Chapter 72 – Did We Lock the Door?

After crushing Wen Yu’s attempt to resist, Wen Zhihan went back to her room so she could be with her wife.

The second episode of Post-Marriage Love Diary aired at eight in the evening.

Shao Cixin waited an extra two hours to watch so there would be more comments on the video. When it came to watching variety shows, the comments were half the fun.

Shao Cixin sat at the end of the bed, adjusting the angle of Wen Zhihan’s laptop. After she was satisfied, she used her hands and feet to climb back to the head of the bed and lay down next to Wen Zhihan, her face full of anticipation.

Wen Zhihan saw Shao Cixin enthusiastically rubbing her hands together, and she couldn’t help but smile. “You seem to be more excited than last time.”

Shao Cixin said cheerfully, “Of course. This time, we’re airing a super romantic birthday surprise, and I have to watch closely. If the production team ruined the editing, I will give them a piece of my mind!”

The surprise happened so suddenly that Shao Cixin didn’t have time to take photos. Now it was all up to the production team.

If the editing was poor, Shao Cixin would have to go to the production team and ask if they could give her a copy of the unedited original film.

It didn’t matter whether it cost money or not, the important thing was that Shao Cixin wanted to cherish this surprise prepared by the person she loved for the rest of her life.

Hearing this, Wen Zhihan smiled and stroked her hair.

The fact that Shao Cixin liked her birthday surprise was more important to Wen Zhihan than anything else.

“It’s starting, it’s starting!”

After the brief intro, the episode cut to the main part.

Shao Cixin carefully nestled into Wen Zhihan’s arms, Wen Zhihan put her hands on her shoulders, and they both watched the screen intently, coaxing each other from time to time.

Before long, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived.

On the screen, Wen Zhihan looked at Shao Cixin with her gentle eyes, holding her phone, saying that she wanted to give Shao Cixin a shooting star which only belonged to her.

Then, countless shooting stars flashed through the small square skylight like gifts from the night.

They gazed at each other and kissed under the shine of the meteor shower.

Shao Cixin made a wish to have a day like this every year.

Outside the screen, Shao Cixin couldn’t help but hug her pillow tightly, her eyes shining like the stars.

At that moment, she still remembered her heartbeat that day, a heartbeat that could not be replaced or ignored.

She was destined to fall for the devotion of the person named “Wen Zhihan.”

She thanked the heavens.

Thank you for allowing me to meet Wen Zhihan, for giving me this relationship where we can be so close to each other.

Shao Cixin was not the only person whose heart was moved.

All kinds of fluffy words had completely taken over the segment.

—Fortunately, us dogs get to eat dog food.

—Ahhh, they’re too romantic. Wuwuwu I’m done, I’m finished.

—Wengu Zhixin! They’re perfect for each other, and they will be together forever!!!

—Who became a fan? It turns out it’s me! Damn it, I also want a wife like President Wen QAQ Where can I get one?

—I’ve learned, I’ve learned. I also want to go to this place and check it out!!!

Shao Cixin quietly wiped away the tears in her eyes. She had been too moved by this moment.

“Hey, not bad. The program team did a good job filming this part,” she said. “Speaking of which, Wen Zhihan, you’re really too romantic. Even I learned a thing or two.”

When Wen Zhihan heard Shao Cixin’s words, she raised her hand and stroked the top of Shao Cixin’s hair, her eyes fixated on her. “These new skills, who are you planning to use them on?”

“On you.” Shao Cixin raised her head and looked at Wen Zhihan. With a confident tone, she said, “Shouldn’t we reciprocate courtesy after learning from each other?”

Wen Zhihan: “…”

Her response would have been perfect if it weren’t for the sentence after it.

Their romantic birthday celebration had become a hot topic.

Netizens were moved by their romance, saying they had learned new tricks.

The “Wengu Zhixin” CP welcomed a new wave of fans, and everyone became even more passionate about their relationship.

The host of the Super Topic[1] couldn’t help but excitedly post on Weibo: [Sisters, our legitimate CP is so delicious! Keep playing the music, keep discussing!]

Shao Cixin secretly liked the Weibo post with her private account. Then she pounced on Wen Zhihan with a face full of happiness. “Mrs. Shao, we are on the hot search!”

Wen Zhihan stretched out her arms to hug Shao Cixin, and when she saw Shao Cixin’s eyes beaming with joy, she smiled unconsciously.

Her Cixin was beautiful when she smiled, making people sad when she cried.

Wen Zhihan still hoped that Shao Cixin could stay just as joyous forever, far away from any troubles, and that she would never be as unhappy as she was yesterday, uncontrollably shedding tears.

“Is Cixin happy?”

“Of course! We were able to hit the hot search all thanks to our President Wen, so I have to remember it!”

“Then can I ask for a reward now?”

“Okay, what do you want?”

After Shao Cixin finished speaking, she looked at Wen Zhihan expectantly and saw Wen Zhihan take away her phone, setting it aside on their nightstand.

Then she felt one hand wrap around her waist, another hand gently reaching for the hem of her clothes.

“A meeting.”

“Mmmm…”

With a soft sound, the two of them fell onto the soft white bed.

Shao Cixin hugged Wen Zhihan’s neck and responded to her desire.

Their pursuit of tongue and lips became more and more passionate and entangled.

Their clothes were half taken off, and the atmosphere gradually warmed up.

Their hands were already roaming restlessly on each other’s bodies, leaving ambiguous warmth on every inch of their skin.

Knock, knock.

The next second, there was a knock on the door.

The two people who were in the midst of gradually deepening their affection were suddenly interrupted: “…”

“Wen Zhihan, did we lock the door?”

“I can’t remember.”

“…”

“…”

They had no choice but to stop and get up to tidy their clothes.

Wen Zhihan calmly fixed the three buttons that Shao Cixin had just ripped apart.

Shao Cixin had a bit more trouble, struggling to button her shirt up in a row.

As she did so, she sighed, “Our President Wen looks really gentle and soft, but the speed of her hand on other people’s clothes is not to be underestimated.”

Wen Zhihan: “…”

She was embarrassed and turned away.

It still depended on who she was doing it with…

After Shao Cixin finished dressing, Wen Zhihan asked, “Who is it?”

Joanna’s voice sounded from the other side.

Wen Zhihan immediately walked over to open the door, and Shao Cixin quickly followed her.

As soon as the door opened, Joanna saw the young couple standing before her.

She happily asked Shao Cixin, “Are you feeling better?”

Shao Cixin and Wen Zhihan looked at each other.

Shao Cixin thought quickly, grabbing Wen Zhihan’s arm and leaning on her shoulder. She smiled at Joanna. “Much better. Thank you for your concern, Mom[2]. What can we do for you?”

“Oh, there’s nothing. I just came by to see if you were feeling better. It looks like you are, so I’m relieved,” Joanna said. “Go to bed early. If you still feel uncomfortable, be sure to let me know.”

“I will.” Shao Cixin nodded obediently. “We’re going to sleep now. Good night, Mom.”

“Good night. Have sweet dreams, my children.”

Joanna went back to her room.

The young couple also closed their own door and breathed a sigh of relief.

Then Wen Zhihan saw Shao Cixin reach for the power switch.

The next second, darkness instantly enveloped the entire room.

Just as Wen Zhihan became confused, a pair of hands wrapped around her waist.

A soft body pressed against her, and a familiar breath landed on her neck.

“Wen Zhihan, turn off the lights. It’s time to sleep.”

Shao Cixin’s voice fell on her ears.

Her hands were moving along Wen Zhihan’s back, boldly stroking upwards.

Wen Zhihan couldn’t help but laugh. While holding Shao Cixin in her arms, she asked, “Isn’t it time to sleep? What is Cixin doing now?”

“Yes, it’s time to sleep. It’s time for you to sleep with me!” Shao Cixin said confidently.

When Wen Zhihan heard this brazen statement, she couldn’t help but smile. Her sultry lips gently kissed the tip of Shao Cixin’s ear, making Shao Cixin’s body tingle.

They kissed each other’s lips, rekindling their extinguished desire.

The dark room was filled with the sound of intimate and lingering kisses.

Click.

Wen Zhihan locked the door.

Some people were happy, and some people were sorrowful.

Shao Cixin and Wen Zhihan were passionately doing it in the room upstairs.

Wen Yu was in her room downstairs, staring at her phone in a daze, feeling lonely and outcast.

Her phone screen displayed the new trending video on the hot search, the birthday surprise from Wen Zhihan to Shao Cixin.

Wen Yu could tell that Shao Cixin really liked this birthday gift.

Even the netizens were praising this surprise and expressing their belief that Shao Cixin and Wen Zhihan were a perfect match made in heaven, as if there was no one more suitable for each other in the world than them.

As Wen Yu looked at the video and these comments, she couldn’t help but compare it to the time in the past when she and Shao Cixin were still together.

Compared to Wen Zhihan, she lost again.

Just as Wen Zhihan accused in her previous life, Wen Yu couldn’t even be a good wife…

Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but feel disturbed.

After being scolded by Shao Cixin, Wen Yu seemed to have finally begun realizing her own shortcomings. The more she looked at Wen Zhihan, the more she felt that she herself was useless and derelict in her duties.

Although she didn’t want to admit it, she was nothing compared to Wen Zhihan.

Shao Cixin was indeed happier with Wen Zhihan than she was with Wen Yu…

Wen Yu slowly bent down and covered her head in pain.

As the person she was, how could she have the face to appear in front of Shao Cixin?

Perhaps she should listen to Wen Zhihan’s arrangements and leave Fengcheng…

At this moment, a call request appeared on her screen.

—Tian Jiahe.

Wen Yu glanced at it and felt aggravated.

Tian Jiahe, Tian Jiahe, Tian Jiahe again!

It was enough to harass her to death in her last life, but did she have to bother her in this life too?! How on earth did she fall for such a person before???

Wen Yu angrily pressed the reject button, then blocked all of Tian Jiahe’s contact information, determined not to see Tian Jiahe anymore.

She decided that she would obediently go to Yangcheng.

It was good for her. She could avoid all of Tian Jiahe’s pestering.

She had no choice but to surrender to Wen Zhihan anyway. Struggling any further was pointless, it would only prolong her own suffering.

Shao Cixin was right. This was the heavens’ punishment for her.

But when she thought of leaving Fengcheng, where she grew up all her life, and going to a foreign land, she suddenly felt tired and couldn’t help but close her eyes.

Her phone was still playing the hot search video.

In it, Shao Cixin was holding Wen Zhihan’s hand.

Her gentle voice came from the speakers—

“I wish that…year after year, there will be a day like this.”

Wen Yu left for Yangcheng.

She would never appear in front of Shao Cixin again, she would never bother them again, and she would never arrogantly claim Shao Cixin’s love as her own again.

As soon as Wen Yu left, Shao Cixin suddenly felt that the air was fresher, and the sun was brighter. Beyond that, Wen Yu’s departure changed nothing.

Shao Cixin’s life went on as usual, and no one mentioned Wen Yu again.

Until one night, when she met Tian Jiahe at the entrance to her and Wen Zhihan’s community.

Tian Jiahe stood under the streetlight, wearing a long dress and braided pigtails, like a harmless beauty. She still resembled the person in Shao Cixin’s memories, very well-behaved, suggesting a docile little white rabbit.

Unfortunately, she was only “docile” in appearance.

A truly docile white rabbit would not destroy other people’s families, nor would it feel comfortable intervening in a relationship that it was no longer involved in.

Shao Cixin felt absurd and disgusted when she recalled the scene of Tian Jiahe and Wen Yu standing in front of her holding hands.

How did she get involved with such a pair of scumbags in the first place?

Everyone was sometimes blind, but her blindness had been especially severe.

Shao Cixin knew without thinking that Tian Jiahe had come here to find her.

As for why she came, that part wasn’t clear.

With her arms across her chest, Shao Cixin took the initiative and said, “Miss Tian, is there something wrong?”

“There is.”

Tian Jiahe did not hesitate to walk towards her.

As she left the bright light, the darkness quietly climbed onto her shoulders.

“Miss Shao.”

“Hmm?”

“My mistake. Mrs. Wen.”

“Hm, speak.”

The small change in title made Tian Jiahe even more convinced of one thing.

—Shao Cixin had completely let go of Wen Yu. Now she was Mrs. Wen, Wen Zhihan’s wife.

Since this was the case, Tian Jiahe had nothing to worry about.

Gathering her courage, Tian Jiahe summoned a friendly smile. “Mrs. Wen, can I ask you for a favor?”

Ask her? Tian Jiahe was actually asking her for a favor?

Shao Cixin felt like she had encountered an uncommon natural phenomenon. She raised her eyebrows, choosing not to answer Tian Jiahe directly.

They kept their distance, one in the light, the other in the dark, wearing different expressions.

Shao Cixin was calm and composed, with not a trace of emotion on her face, standing like a Buddha who was silently looking at the masses.

On the other hand, Tian Jiahe became more and more anxious the longer she looked into Shao Cixin’s calm expression.

What did she mean by not saying anything?

Would she refuse to help her?

What should Tian Jiahe do?

Don’t worry about it, let’s just give it a try!

Tian Jiahe said urgently, “I want you to tell me where Wen Yu is!”

Wen Yu didn’t answer her calls, and she was no longer at Guanglan either.

Guanglan’s security guard said that Wen Yu had been transferred, but he didn’t know where she had been transferred to.

She couldn’t go to the Wen family residence.

Or Guanglan.

All her information related to Wen Yu was abruptly cut off. Wen Yu suddenly disappeared from her world like a bubble popping.

But Tian Jiahe couldn’t accept such a result.

She wanted to find her…to find the Wen Yu who still loved her.

And now, the person in front of her, Shao Cixin, was her last hope.

Tian Jiahe looked at Shao Cixin with earnest eyes. “Can you, Mrs. Wen?”

The words fell to the ground.

Tian Jiahe watched Shao Cixin’s brows gradually unfurl, and her delicate lips slightly part open—

“Of course.”

Tian Jiahe was overjoyed.

But when she saw the look on Shao Cixin’s face, she couldn’t help but ask, “You really promise to help me?”

“Really.”

“Why?”

When Shao Cixin heard this single-word question, her autumn-filled peach blossom eyes gradually curved like the crescent moon hanging in the sky, her mouth formed a bright and charming smile.

The streetlight illuminated half her face, making her appear beautiful and moving.

Between the half-light and half-darkness, Tian Jiahe felt that Shao Cixin’s smile seemed to have an inexplicable evil aura to it.

Wearing this smile, Shao Cixin said, “Because you are her one true love.”

Some self improvement goes a looooong way. I’m a believer in second chances, not the relationship, the person. I’d rather an ending where everyone ends up happy, even if it’s a piece of excrement like Wen Yu.

Hmm… I was think Tian might be a bad match, but they’re kinda perfect for each other aren’t they? 2 pieces of crap, maybe they’ll find their calling to not be pieces of crap in the other, wouldn’t that be poetic.
