Chapter 90 – The End

They held the wedding in a manor.

Shao Cixin originally wanted to choose the beach, but Wen Zhihan persuaded her otherwise.

The sea breeze was strong, and it could easily mess up their hair, which would damage her beautiful image.

Shao Cixin felt that Wen Zhihan’s argument was very convincing.

As a person who listened to her wife, she decisively gave up the beach and chose the manor.

According to her preferences, the wedding venue must be grand and dreamy, harmonious and beautiful. Her and Wen Zhihan’s wedding should be the most magnificent in the world, left to professional wedding designers to handle.

Wen Zhihan had no additional requirements for the style. She left everything up to Shao Cixin.

Whether it was a grand wedding, or a simple wedding with only relatives and friends, or even just themselves and an officiant, it didn’t matter. As long as the other person was Shao Cixin.

Of course, they also needed to choose their outfit.

Shao Cixin and Wen Zhihan deliberately arranged their work schedules to leave enough time to decide on their wedding dresses together.

They went to the largest name-brand bridal shop in Fengcheng.

Wen Zhihan stood silently in front of a pure and flawless wedding dress.

While her gaze was on this gorgeous wedding dress, she seemed to be looking through it into the distant past.

Once upon a time, she saw Shao Cixin wear this wedding dress at Wen Yu’s wedding.

At that time, she was in the audience, watching the two of them from the perspective of relatives and friends, or rather, watching Shao Cixin.

Shao Cixin was very beautiful that day, like an elegant and noble princess, walking gracefully towards her lover and welcoming a new life.

She was beautiful…so beautiful that she was unforgettable. But she wasn’t Wen Zhihan’s beauty.

In the audience, Wen Zhihan could only stare, an outsider to the wedding that she had sanctioned herself. Her heart was sour, but she felt happy for Shao Cixin.

It didn’t matter, as long as Shao Cixin was happy.

At that time, she really thought Shao Cixin had found her happiness, and her life would be extremely joyous from then on.

But what about Wen Zhihan?

She had nothing.

Back then, Wen Zhihan could never have imagined that one day, Shao Cixin would come to her in a wedding dress, become her bride, and spend her life with her…

She stared at the white wedding dress in front of her in a trance, her fingertips caressing the fleecy skirt, as if touching a mirror.

At this moment, a pair of hands gently wrapped around her waist and pulled her into an embrace.

In the blink of an eye, a familiar figure had already snuck up behind Wen Zhihan.

Shao Cixin whispered sweetly into her ear, “Do you like this one? Let’s try it out My wife is so beautiful, so it must look good on her.”

At the sound of Shao Cixin’s voice, Wen Zhihan slowly fell back to reality. She turned to look at her wife and raised her hand to touch her face.

This was the living, breathing Shao Cixin, the Shao Cixin who loved her and belonged to her.

She wasn’t a dream, she was a gift from the heavens.

Wen Zhihan placed a kiss on Shao Cixin’s lips and said softly, “It isn’t that I like it, but that I’m thinking about our past.”

Her eyes cleared. “Cixin, I never thought I could have this day with you.”

There was no one around them, and they could speak freely.

The salesperson had anticipated that Shao Cixin and Wen Zhihan wouldn’t want anyone to disturb them and wisely chose to stand on the side a short distance away.

Almost instantly, Shao Cixin understood which moment in the “past” Wen Zhihan was referring to. Her eyes softened, and she interlocked her fingers with Wen Zhihan’s.

“Of course, we will have that day together,” she said. “I love you, and you love me. This is taken for granted. No one can even try to tear us apart.”

Wen Zhihan laughed softly, a smile rippling through her beautiful eyes.

She couldn’t help but kiss Shao Cixin again, unable to control her desire and adoration. “As Mrs. Wen says.”

Everything in the past had long been blurred by the torrent of time, becoming a distant memory. Now that they were in love, they could no longer be separated. This was reality—a reality that no one could change.

Shao Cixin curved her eyes and smiled up at Wen Zhihan, hugging her tighter.

That’s right, what happened in the past was no longer important. Right now, Shao Cixin just wanted to provide Wen Zhihan security and happiness. And to have more beautiful tomorrows with her.

—Wen Zhihan was her destined wife!

“Come on, change into a wedding dress. I haven’t seen you in a wedding dress yet. I want to see it.”

“Okay, okay.”

“Hehe, my super beautiful wife~”

Shao Cixin was full of anticipation. Her eyes were astonishingly bright, and she smiled like a…

“Cixin.” Wen Zhihan pinched the tip of Shao Cixin’s nose and admonished with a smile, “You’re smiling like a little delinquent.”

“What little delinquent?”

Shao Cixin couldn’t take it anymore. She threw herself into Wen Zhihan’s arms and righteously attempted to clear her name. “This is obviously your beloved puppy!”

There was nothing cute about delinquents. It was puppies that were lovable.

This little dog didn’t know what a delinquent was. This little dog just wanted to love her sister openly!

The corners of Wen Zhihan’s eyes wrinkled as she smiled.

Nothing could compare to the cuteness of her puppy Shao Cixin.

But when it finally came time for her to change into a wedding dress, she ended up making Shao Cixin cry.

Shao Cixin was crying as she praised her wife for her beauty, making everyone feel dumbfounded just by looking at her.

Wen Zhihan had managed to suppress the surge of emotions in her heart, but she never expected that Shao Cixin, who was always cheerful, would be the one to shed tears instead.

While still wearing her wedding dress, Wen Zhihan asked the salespeople around them to leave so that she could comfort Shao Cixin.

But the more she tried to console Shao Cixin, the harder Shao Cixin’s tears fell.

Shao Cixin couldn’t control herself at this moment.

When she saw Wen Zhihan approach her in a wedding dress, it finally hit her that they were getting married. Afterward, she felt her heart thump, her nose suddenly became sore, and her eyes turning red.

Her Zhihan had endured so much loneliness for so long…

Her Zhihan had obviously been so unhappy in their previous life, but she still only wanted to make Shao Cixin’s life happier in this one…

Her Zhihan had always given Shao Cixin the most tender part of her heart, which never changed as autumn passed, winter came, and spring turned into summer.

Now she could finally see the clouds part and the moonlight shine down on them, the hardships over and the joy arriving in its place.

Shao Cixin was so upset and moved by these thoughts that she couldn’t suppress her feelings and, in the next second, large crocodile tears welled up in her eyes.

“Wah…When I saw you in your wedding dress, I really couldn’t help…couldn’t help but want to cry,” she sniffed.  “I think you suffered too much because of your love for me in the past, but I’m also so affected and grateful that we didn’t miss each other, that we’re finally together…”

Her eyes were red from crying, and her thick eyelashes were glistening with water. Every one of her tears contained love and distress for the person before her.

“I-I can’t hold back my tears. Wife, wah…”

Wen Zhihan held Shao Cixin in her arms and silently embraced her.

She stroked Shao Cixin’s hair, gently moving her fingers along Shao Cixin’s back, trying to alleviate her tears.

Her red lips parted slightly, wanting to provide some of her usual words of comfort, but the thousands of statements gathered on her lips quickly turned into a spring breeze as she heard Shao Cixin’s low sobs for her.

“Silly melon[1].”

My Cixin, the heavens must be extraordinarily fond of you. Otherwise, how could he make you so cute?

I have long been hopelessly obsessed with you.

Shao Cixin felt that she was being worthless crying over something so trivial.

When she heard Wen Zhihan, she held back her tears and asked in a whimpering voice, “Then do you like watermelons, pumpkins, or me, a little fool[2]?”

Even if she was crying, she couldn’t stop herself from flirting!

After listening to Shao Cixin, Wen Zhihan was startled into laughter. The more she laughed, the happier she became, and the smile in her eyes grew stronger.

She didn’t forget to help Shao Cixin save face. “I like you, the little fool.”

Shao Cixin was infected by Wen Zhihan’s smile, and she finally burst into laughter herself.

Well, if her wife was laughing, then she wouldn’t cry.

She was going to beautifully choose a wedding dress!

On the day of the wedding, the sun beamed above, hanging brightly in the cloudless sky like a warm decoration on a beautiful canopy.

White and blue balloons were fluttering in the wind, tied between decorative flowers.

Colorful bubbles floated in the air, causing children to laugh as they chased after them.

The parents of the two families enthusiastically entertained the guests. Everyone had friendly smiles on their faces, and they were all sincerely happy for the special day’s newlyweds.

The visitors included not just relatives and friends, but also prominent figures in both the investment and film industries.

There were investment bankers, business giants, famous directors, movie kings and queens, and so on.

Guests arrived like clouds, one after another, each providing their own pomp and dignity.

When the time came, the cool summer wind breezily blew past and the wedding music played slowly, the flowers and ribbons swayed gently as the newlyweds gradually appeared on stage under the shining blue sky.

Wen Zhihan slowly walked toward the audience in a pure white wedding dress. She wore a bridal veil on her head and held a bouquet in her hand. Her long hair was tied neatly behind her back and two strands of slightly curled hair fell in front of her forehead, displaying a sense of both maturity and good temperament.

A ray of sunlight passed through her skirt, illuminating a field of bright stars in the fabric.

She stopped under the arch of flowers, appearing unrivaled in splendor[3].

Wen Zhihan did not move forward. She looked behind herself with her blue eyes which rivaled the seas themselves and raised her hand at the same time.

Under the audience’s gaze, a cold jade-white hand gently fell into her palm.

Their ten fingers intertwined solemnly, as if they were entrusting each other with their lives.

Then, Shao Cixin appeared in everyone’s sights.

She was holding a bouquet and wearing a beautiful wedding dress. Her eyes were curved as she smiled at her beloved. The sweetness that emanated from her was like candy in a jar, impossible to ignore. As if she could taste it herself, the corners of her lips rose unconsciously as she approached Wen Zhihan.

They held each other’s hands and slowly walked towards the red carpet.

Pink and white flowers intertwined and wrapped around the metal flower stands that decorated both sides of the wedding path. They were innocent, delicate, and natural, as if they were born just the way they were.

The flower stands were of different heights, and they were carefully arranged along the path so that they resembled undulating waves.

Under the clear blue sky, Shao Cixin and Wen Zhihan walked hand-in-hand among the flowers, their skirts trailing along the ground, their backs complementing each other.

Wen Zhihan held her lover’s hand and couldn’t help but repeatedly glance at the person next to her as they walked towards the master of the ceremonies.

Her wife was close at hand, within reach, a beautiful dream come true.

Wen Zhihan silently smiled and unconsciously squeezed Shao Cixin’s hand.

She was secretly looking at Shao Cixin, and Shao Cixin was also secretly looking at her.

At this, Shao Cixin couldn’t help but curl her lips.

They were getting married today. Today was a good day~

She and Wen Zhihan finally approached the master of ceremonies. Hand-in-hand, they turned to look into each other’s eyes and solemnly swore their oaths in front of the crowd.

From now on, they would be with each other through wind and rain and rely on one another through happiness and bitterness. They would never leave, never be found disloyal, or let anyone come between their feelings.

Shao Cixin was very sincere as she took her oath, her voice especially clear when she answered whether she was willing or not.

This promise, she wanted the whole world to hear it.

She looked at Wen Zhihan, who was smiling softly with her eyes lowered, and said seriously, “I’m deeply worried that the people behind me won’t hear me say ‘yes,’ and then they won’t know how much I love you.”

She needed everyone to know that she was willing.

She was willing to love Wen Zhihan, willing to marry Wen Zhihan, and willing to be together with Wen Zhihan till the end of time—as long as she was with Wen Zhihan, then she was willing to say yes to anything!

Wen Zhihan took Shao Cixin’s hand and kissed her fingers gently. “It doesn’t matter if they don’t hear it—they can still see it.”

They had long stopped hiding their love for each other.

Everyone in the world knew that they were in love, and even the heavens themselves intervened to make it happen.

Shao Cixin’s expression grew even more brilliant.

She and Wen Zhihan exchanged rings under the guidance of the master of ceremonies. Then they kissed before thunderous applause and threw their bouquets into the audience to pass on their blessings.

They hoped that whoever received the bouquet could carry on their happiness, whether that person chose to marry or not.

Lin Mumu was pleasantly surprised when she caught the bouquet in her hands. She excitedly raised it and waved it at the newlyweds.

Then she turned back and wrapped her fingers around Guan Yan’s hand.

The wind was gentle, and the sun was beautiful. All was well amidst the laughter and cheers.

In the evening, there was a wedding reception.

Shao Cixin and Wen Zhihan changed into lighter dresses to attend, extending the lively joy of the day into the night and happily chatting with the guests.

Halfway through the reception, the two quietly snuck out of the venue and returned hand-in-hand to the wedding manor.

The flower arch was still there, the wedding path was still there. Everything was still in its place.

Under the starry night, the evening breeze blew past, dreamy and beautiful.

Wen Zhihan was looking at their wedding venue.

Shao Cixin was looking at Wen Zhihan.

She could see a hint of a drunken blush spreading on Wen Zhihan’s face, and her blue eyes had turned hazy and smokey, misty and moving.

In the night breeze, she could almost hear the sound of her own pounding heartbeat, and she heard herself asking curiously, “What is my Zhihan thinking?”

Wen Zhihan turned her gaze to her, her beautiful eyes slightly curved. “I’m thinking about today’s wedding.”

Her wedding with Shao Cixin.

Although they had already been married for more than two years, this fact did not prevent their wedding from causing her heart to flutter.

Whenever she thought of it, she would unconsciously raise her lips into a smile, feeling happy beyond her mind.

Shao Cixin chuckled when she heard this. She hooked her chin on Wen Zhihan’s shoulder and said sweetly, “Don’t worry, I had someone record our wedding. In the future, we can watch it anytime we want. There’s also that variety show we were on together, so we have many wonderful memories that we can look back on.”

Wen Zhihan nodded. She couldn’t help but hold Shao Cixin’s hand tighter.

She looked at the stage, and then the seats for the guests in the audience. Suddenly, she felt a sense of euphoria.

Once upon a time, she was also one of the people sitting below the stage…

“Cixin,” Wen Zhihan said, “There’s a real difference between looking up at you from down here and standing next to you up there.”

There was a tinge of emotion in her tone.

She didn’t expect that so much time could pass in the blink of an eye.

But what happened in her previous life felt like yesterday, as if she was just sitting in the guest aisle, watching Shao Cixin walk toward someone else…

“The past is different, but the future is the same.”

Shao Cixin suddenly spoke up.

Wen Zhihan turned her head and saw Shao Cixin smiling. “Because from now on, no matter where you are, my heart will always follow you. It will never be lost again.

“I belong to you. I will always be your Mrs. Wen.”

She was Shao Cixin, a first-year student in Class 1-2. She was the same Shao Cixin who was caught by Wen Zhihan every time she violated the school rules. She was also the same Shao Cixin who finally understood her Senior Sister’s feelings after so many years. She was the Shao Cixin who liked her very much—who was her Wen Zhihan’s Mrs. Wen.

This would never change.

Wen Zhihan blinked her beautiful eyes and finally smiled with understanding. She reached out to embrace Shao Cixin in her arms.

They kissed each other under the stars, promising another long life together.

The moon shone brightly above, the wind fading behind their ears.

At this moment, the budding fate of missing each other and reuniting in another life finally blossomed into a perfect, eternal flower.

【The End】

The author (热到昏厥) has something to say:

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone!

I also wish our two newlyweds a hundred years of happiness and that they could live together until the white hairs of old age[4]! [the sound of firecrackers and beating gongs and drums]

The text is over, it’s over, it’s over!

Starting tomorrow, I will begin updating with the extra chapters OvO. The extra chapters will be updated daily. If something happens, I will ask for leave.

I am currently planning on writing two highly popular AUs, those being “What If: College Love” and “What If: Cixin didn’t from her car accident in their previous lives.” The word count is uncertain, and they will just end up at whatever length they end up being at. I’ll begin writing the former starting tomorrow.

There may also be some additional side stories that were not included in the main text.

In other words, the extra chapters won’t be long or short. They’ll be however long I can continue writing them.

The story of Wengu Zhixin is not over yet. I hope everyone can continue to support it~

Finally, I would like to extend my special thanks to everyone for your continued support of myself and the official version of this text.

The translator (AmEricaNo) has something to say:

Wow, what a journey!

Thank you to everyone for reading this translation, and 热到昏厥 for writing such an amazing text.

If you can, please consider supporting 热到昏厥 directly through JJWXC.

I’ve linked a guide to JJWXC here: [Link]

Of course, we still have 15 chapters worth of extras to go, and they’re all very chunky.

No matter what your feelings on the main text, I highly recommend reading them as their own short romance stories.

Near the end, I will be announcing my next project, also by 热到昏厥. Please look forward to it.

Finally, thank you to my ko-fi supporters for making this possible! ❤️

[1] “傻瓜” (shǎguā) or literally “dumb melon” is an affectionate term of affection for a person who’s being silly/foolish. It’s typically used when someone is upset in a cute/endearing way, like when an adult sees a kid crying over a toy.

[2]See above. Shao Cixin is making a pun on the literal reading of “傻瓜” (shǎguā). In Chinese, pumpkins are called “南瓜” or “Southern melons.”

[3] 风华绝代 (fēng huá jué dài), or literally “magnificent style/talent unmatched in [her] generation,” is a Chinese idiom that refers to someone whose style/talent is the best in the world.

[4]“白頭偕老” (báitóuxiélǎo), literally “live together until the white hairs of old age,” is a common romantic Chinese saying that has a similar (though less formal) connotation to “until death do us apart.” Basically, “grow old together” or “stay together forever.”
