Jin Hanshuang sat by the window in her rocking chair, watching the rain drizzle outside.

Her thoughts unconsciously drifted to Lu Yunshu.

Has that kid made it home yetโ€ฆ

Then her phone rangโ€”it was Lu Yunshu.

Jin Hanshuang raised an eyebrow.

Whatโ€™s this? Speak of the devil. Does Lu Yunshu have some kind of sixth sense?

She answered the call. โ€œHello?โ€

On the other side, Lu Yunshu repeated, โ€œHello.โ€

Jin Hanshuang smiled. โ€œWhatโ€™s that, is there a parrot on the phone?โ€

Lu Yunshuโ€™s voice carried a hint of laughter. โ€œThere is now.โ€

โ€œHuh? But itโ€™s gone now?โ€

โ€œNow.โ€

โ€œOh?โ€

โ€œOh.โ€

โ€œAi-ya!โ€

โ€œAi-ya.โ€

โ€œStop it.โ€

โ€œOkay.โ€

Lu Yunshu was so good at controlling herself.

Jin Hanshuangโ€™s smile widened.

Where did this childish little puppy come from!

โ€œWhat are you calling for?โ€ she asked.

Lu Yunshu said, โ€œIโ€™m home.โ€

โ€œOkay.โ€

The call went quiet again. In the background, Jin Hanshuang could hear the rustle of movements and the soft clink of keys being set on a table.

On the other side, Lu Yunshu contemplated what to say. She needed to seize the moment before Jin Hanshuang decided to hang up on her. After all, sheโ€™d work so hard to find a legitimate reason to callโ€ฆ

She parted her lips to speak.

But Jin Hanshuangโ€™s voice came first, full of regret. โ€œWhat to do?โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong? Did something happen?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not me, itโ€™s you.โ€

โ€œHuh?โ€

Jin Hanshuang reclined in her rocking chair. โ€œAi-ya, itโ€™s raining. Our President Lu wonโ€™t be able to meet her crush today.โ€

Lu Yunshu chuckled softly. โ€œItโ€™s okay. We can still chat online.โ€

Jin Hanshuang thought, How optimistic.

Then Jin Hanshuang remembered the way Lu Yunshu had complimented her before leaving, how Lu Yunshuโ€™s hand had tucked in Jin Hanshuangโ€™s hair like it was the most natural thing in the world.

Well, with such good looks and charm, this kid doesnโ€™t even need to be optimistic.

โ€œYunshu, you donโ€™t need to learn anything from me. Youโ€™ve already mastered it.โ€

โ€œMastered what?โ€

Lu Yunshu didnโ€™t understand.

Jin Hanshuang thought, Sure enough.

This kid has no idea just how capable she is.

Jin Hanshuang set down her phone and put Lu Yunshu on speaker. As she swayed gently in her rocking chair, she said slowly, โ€œYou donโ€™t need to learn anything. Just let her see you.โ€

โ€œSee me?โ€

โ€œYes, see you. See your looks, your personality, your authenticityโ€”everything about you. This way, she will naturally feel moved.โ€

By the exceptional, serious, gentle, and considerate Lu Yunshuโ€”and by the cute and naive Lu Yunshu. Her Lu Yunshu was too good. Jin Hanshuang couldnโ€™tโ€™ think of any reason for anyone to reject someone so lovely.

Then, Lu Yunshuโ€™s voice fell in her ears. โ€œLike how you see me?โ€

For a moment, Jin Hanshuang was speechless. Lu Yunshuโ€™s dead serious tone painted a vivid image in Jin Hanshuangโ€™s mindโ€”Lu Yunshu, looking with her gentle but intense gaze.

What a strange atmosphere.

It felt likeโ€ฆflirting. How could this be?

โ€œLu Yunshu, you canโ€™t talk to jiejie like that.โ€

โ€œLike what?โ€

Lu Yunshu sounded innocent and sincere.

โ€œ…โ€

Hearing Lu Yunshuโ€™s reaction, Jin Hanshuang was ashamed by her dirty thoughts. Lu Yunshu must not even realize what she was doing.

She decided not to answer the question.

โ€œLike what?โ€ Lu Yunshu asked again, curious.

โ€œ…โ€

โ€œWhy isnโ€™t Hanshuang speaking?โ€

โ€œ…โ€

โ€œJiejie, teach me.โ€

โ€œTsk.โ€ Jin Hanshuang finally spoke. โ€œYou little rascal, youโ€ฆโ€

โ€œYou what?โ€

The hint of laughter in Lu Yunshuโ€™s voice drifted through the phone and tickled Jin Hanshuangโ€™s ears.

Jin Hanshuang picked up the phone, as if she wanted to reach through and pinch Lu Yunshuโ€™s face. โ€œYouโ€™re really something else.โ€

Lu Yunshu was turning bolder than her.

โ€œThank you Hanshuang for the compliment.โ€

Now she is being modest.

Jin Hanshuang sat up. โ€œAlright. Iโ€™m tired. Iโ€™m going to take a nap. You should go find your sweetheart. Good luck, incredible President Lu.โ€

The incredible President Lu: โ€œAlright, sleep well.โ€

As soon as the call ended, Lu Yunshu replayed the conversation in her mind.

It felt like flirting, very ambiguousโ€”she was making progress.

Like her crush finally seeing her for who she was.

Even though she was pursuing her sweetheart, Lu Yunshu did not neglect her career. But in her line of work, you canโ€™t avoid running into people you donโ€™t want to see.

One night, Lu Yunshu put on her sunglasses and leisurely stepped out from the backseat of her car into the underground parking lot. As she looked up, she saw her lifelong nemesis walking out from the other side, accompanied by a secretary.

Enemies really do cross paths easily.

The moment Lu Yunshu saw Shen Wenxinโ€™s face, a flurry of thoughts flooded her mind.

For example, Shen Wenxin was Jin Hanshuangโ€™s stepmother.

And they had a surprisingly close relationship.

In other words, if Lu Yunshu wanted to pursue Jin Hanshuang, she would first have to get past Shen Wenxin.

Past Shen Wenxinโ€ฆ

Lu Yunshu unconsciously narrowed her eyes. Behind her lenses, her gaze turned sharp and calculating as she began to size up her nemesis.

Across the parking lot, Shen Wenxin suddenly stopped in her tracks, turning her head to look straight at Lu Yunshu. Clearly, sheโ€™d noticed Lu Yunshuโ€™s presence as well.

Without any reaction, Shen Wenxin averted her gaze and continued walking as if Lu Yunshu didnโ€™t exist.

โ€œShen Wenxin.โ€

The sound of her name disturbed the sanctity of the parking lot.

Shen Wenxin stopped in her steps.

She turned toward the source of the voice and responded with casual indifference, โ€œWhat?โ€

Exactly like they were in school.

Whenever one called the otherโ€™s name, this was always the response.

Casual and rudeโ€”because who should be polite to someone they hate!

Their secretaries exchanged glances, then looked at their bosses, completely baffled by the situation. Something was wrongโ€”werenโ€™t they supposed to turn away the moment they saw each other?

Shen Wenxin also thought Lu Yunshu was acting strange.

But she didnโ€™t care.

Even if the sky were falling, as long as it landed on Lu Yunshu, it had nothing to do with her.

โ€œIf you have something to say, spit it out. My time is valuable.โ€

Lu Yunshu remained silent.

After a few seconds, she finally said, โ€œNothing. You go ahead.โ€

Then she left. She just leftโ€”without even looking back.

Lu Yunshu wasnโ€™t at the stage where she needed to get past Shen Wenxin yet. She couldnโ€™t bring herself to say any conciliatory words and make peaceโ€”not when she was staring at Shen Wenxinโ€™s stupid face.

Shen Wenxin: โ€œ…?โ€

She stared at Lu Yunshuโ€™s back, her expression full of confusion.

Did Lu Yunshu just call her out, only to send her off?

She turned to her secretary, speechless.

โ€œIs she crazy?โ€
