Chapter 51 – It Belonged to Her

Ever since Lu Yunshu was corrupted, she became even more clingy.

Or rather, she was only clingy at home.

During the day, she maintained her image as the cool President Lu.

But by night, she turned into an affectionate little puppy.

It was a striking contrast.

And it just so happened that Jin Hanshuang loved contradictions.

So now she loved Lu Yunshu even more.

Today, she was finally taking her puppy girlfriend to meet her friends.

They were meeting up at their usual place, the karaoke bar with a nice atmosphere and plenty of food. It was a great place to hang out, and their private room had already been reserved.

Jin Hanshuang and Lu Yunshu arrived first. They ran into Du Mengying outside.

Lu Yunshu had seen Du Mengying before.

That time when she treated Jin Hanshuang to dessert, Du Mengying was there too.

She didn’t know Du Mengying well, but she understood that Du Mengying was one of Hanshuang’s regular afternoon tea friends.

Jin Hanshuang introduced them. “Du Mengying, a good friend of mine. You’ve met her before.”

Lu Yunshu nodded politely and greeted her sweetly, “Hello, jiejie.”

Du Mengying hadn’t expected Lu Yunshu to be this well-behaved. The way Lu Yunshu chose to address her put her in a good mood. “Hello, sweetheart.”

Then she turned to Jin Hanshuang and said, “It’s so cold out here. I’m heading in first.”

Jin Hanshuang nodded. “Go ahead. We’ll be right there.”

Once Du Mengying left, Jin Hanshuang turned to Lu Yunshu.

Lu Yunshu also turned to her.

They stared at each other, their fingers interlaced.

After a moment, Lu Yunshu leaned over and kissed Jin Hanshuang.

She ended their staring contest.

Jin Hanshuang laughed. “You’re this well-behaved even in front of others?”

Lu Yunshu laughed too. “I’ve always been well-behaved.”

Jin Hanshuang said, “Well, you haven’t been that well-behaved.”

Lu Yunshu blinked curiously. “Hm?”

“Just call them sis,”[1] Jin Hanshuang said. She wrapped an arm around Lu Yunshu’s waist and whispered in her ear, “The only person you can call ‘jiejie’ is me.”

Her last line drifted out in a soft, teasing breath, “Because Yunshu says it so sweetly…and jiejie loves to hear it.”

Her warm breath brushed against Lu Yunshu’s ear like a tender, affectionate kiss.

Lu Yunshu instantly followed her girlfriend’s train of thought.

Jiejie loves hearing it.

Jiejie loves to be happy around her.

Jiejie is possessive of her.

She was more than happy to encourage the last thought.

A smile surfaced in her eyes. “Okay, I’ll remember that.”

Then she turned her head and whispered in a voice meant for the two of them alone, “I’ll do whatever jiejie says.”

Jin Hanshuang’s eyes curved into crescents.

“You’re so cute~” Her smile was as breathtaking as ever. “Come on, let’s head in too. It’s cold outside. Can’t let my girlfriend catch a cold.”

Lu Yunshu took Jin Hanshuang’s hand. “I can’t let my girlfriend catch a cold either.”

Together, they walked into the karaoke bar.

Qin Xiaoliu arrived.

Qin Xiaoliu was stunned.

Qin Xiaoliu couldn’t believe it.

“Hello, Xiaoliu-jie.”

She heard Lu Yunshu greet her.

She was in even more disbelief.

My god, no way!

How could it really be Lu Yunshu!

Jin Hanshuang, you really went for it?!

Although she was stunned, Qin Xiaoliu quickly composed herself and responded politely, “Ah—hello, hello…”

Du Mengying lounged on the sofa, her eyes dancing with amusement as she watched the drama unfold before her.

See? I told you Lu Yunshu would scare her half to death.

After she finished greeting her, Qin Xiaoliu gave Lu Yunshu an apologetic smile.

She was about to steal her girlfriend away and pull her outside for a private talk.

The moment they were out the door, Qin Xiaoliu’s true feelings showed on her face. “What the hell is going on—how did this become real!”

Jin Hanshuang was still smiling sweetly. “Who knows. We’re such a good match, aren’t we?”

Qin Xiaoliu: “…”

Then her expression turned serious. “Forget whether you’re a good match or not, what about Wenxin? You and her mortal enemy are together now. How are you going to handle that?”

Jin Hanshuang was touched by Qin Xiaoliu’s concern.

She was so moved that she reached out to pat Qin Xiaoliu’s shoulder, as if to dislodge her concern. “Don’t worry. Wenxin already knows.”

“?”

“She’s already accepted that we’re together.”

“?”

After a moment, Qin Xiaoliu’s expression brightened. “Well then, no problem.”

She quickly made peace with it. “Come on, let’s go sing!”

The rest of Jin Hanshuang’s friends reacted the same way as Qin Xiaoliu.

Everyone was shocked that Jin Hanshuang was dating Shen Wenxin’s mortal enemy, but once they heard that She Wenxin was cool with it, they all relaxed and accepted it.

If the person closest to Jin Hanshuang didn’t mind, why would they mind?

As long as Lu Yunshu wasn’t a terrible person, as long as she wouldn’t hurt Hanshuang, and as long as she loved her well—

That was all that mattered!

But they were curious.

Who pursued who first?

Lu Yunshu was very honest. “It was me.”

Well, that made things interesting.

No one in the room wanted to sing anymore.

No one was eating either.

They all wanted to hear the story of how these two got together.

Lu Yunshu turned to Jin Hanshuang, a silent question in her gaze.

Should we tell them? Do you want to tell it, or should I?

Jin Hanshuang squeezed her hand and turned to the group. “She approached me first. Then I was seduced by her beauty and fell for her. Game over.”

It was a very brief summary.

She skipped the beginning, blurred the middle, and cut the ending.

Her friends weren’t having it.

“What was that, Jin Hanshuang? You think we’ll accept that half-baked version?”

“Come on, Jin Hanshuang, tell the truth!”

“Spill everything—now!”

Jin Hanshuang took her girlfriend’s face and turned it toward her friends. “How was I being dishonest? Look for yourselves. Isn’t this face beautiful?”

Lu Yunshu was suddenly presented to the audience and felt the weight of all their gazes.

She smiled politely.

It was a beautiful smile.

Everyone fell silent for a couple of seconds.

“…She really is gorgeous.”

“…Alright, we’ll let it slide.”

Seeing the crowd’s reaction, Jin Hanshuang grew even bolder. She took Lu Yunshu’s hand and said sweetly, “Right? My baby is so gorgeous~”

Everyone else: “…”

Everyone else: “Ugh, a stinky couple.”

It was a familiar scene.

Lu Yunshu lowered her gaze and laughed softly.

Du Mengying stepped in, changing the subject. “Okay, okay, let’s sing.”

Qin Xiaoliu looked at Lu Yunshu. “Want to sing something?”

Lu Yunshu shook her head. “I’m tone-deaf.”

Qin Xiaoliu turned to Jin Hanshuang. “What about you? Won’t you sing something for your girlfriend?”

Jin Hanshuang said, “I want to eat braised pork and rice with my girlfriend.”

Qin Xiaoliu said, “Stinky couple.”

Qin Xiaoliu’s girlfriend repeated, “Stinky couple.”

Du Mengying played the straight man. “You two don’t get to say that.”

Qin Xiaoliu and her girlfriend both laughed—even their laughter sounded similar.

Their private room was filled with warmth and joy.

Lu Yunshu was experienced with socializing.

Even in this crowd, she didn’t seem the least bit shy.

When people talked to her, she spoke easily.

But she was stuck to Jin Hanshuang like glue.

She never once strayed from her girlfriend’s side.

Jin Hanshuang also paid attention to her.

Sometimes, when she glanced at her girlfriend, Jin Hanshuang would catch Lu Yunshu smiling for no apparent reason.

Soon, it was Qin Xiaoliu’s turn to sing.

She picked a love song for her girlfriend.

They even put on a playful performance together.

Everyone was used to it and listened to the song quietly.

Lu Yunshu couldn’t help but glance at them a few more times.

She wanted her girlfriend to sing for her too…

Then she saw Jin Hanshuang pick up her phone and search for a song.

After a while, someone passed her the microphone.

Lu Yunshu’s eyes brightened ever so slightly.

Jin Hanshuang had chosen another love song.

Her voice was soft and gentle, with lingering melodies.

When she sang, she only had eyes for Lu Yunshu.

As if she were confessing in front of the whole world.

The song soon came to an end, but Lu Yunshu wasn’t ready for it to stop.

She watched with a hint of disappointment as Jin Hanshuang handed the microphone to someone else.

A new song started.

Lu Yunshu took Jin Hanshuang’s hand and whispered with a smile, “I thought you weren’t going to sing?”

Jin Hanshuang’s lips twitched. “I couldn’t help it. It seemed like someone really wanted to hear me sing.”

When Lu Yunshu had been watching Qin Xiaoliu sing to her girlfriend, Jin Hanshuang had been watching Lu Yunshu.

She could tell that Lu Yunshu was envious of Qin Xiaoliu’s girlfriend.

Wasn’t it just singing? She could also sing a little love song for her girlfriend!

If other people’s girlfriends could have it, her little puppy deserved it too.

Lu Yunshu understood. Her smile deepened.

She leaned in and whispered in Jin Hanshuang’s ear, “It was beautiful. I loved it.”

Jin Hanshuang gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. “If you like it so much, we can come back again next time. Just the two of us, okay?”

“Okay.” Lu Yunshu’s mood soared.

Someone’s little puppy was easy to coax.

The gathering was over and everyone headed home.

After saying goodbye to all her friends, Jin Hanshuang left with Lu Yunshu.

The night was still cold, so they changed into comfortable clothes and slipped under the blankets as soon as they got home.

They sat at the head of the bed and began chatting.

Jin Hanshuang asked if Lu Yunshu had enjoyed herself today.

Lu Yunshu said, “Very much. I got to hear my wife singing for me, and her voice was beautiful. Why did you say you couldn’t sing?”

Jin Hanshuang replied, “I never said I couldn’t, I just said I didn’t like to.” She smiled to herself. “The only thing I used to love about that place was its braised pork and rice.”

Lu Yunshu looked at her. “You’re amazing.”

This phrase instantly brought back many memories for Jin Hanshuang.

Lu Yunshu also seemed to be thinking about the past.

Jin Hanshuang asked, “Yunshu, do you want to know why I picked the karaoke bar today?”

Lu Yunshu followed her lead and said, “Yes.”

And so Jin Hanshuang told her about the time last year when Qin Xiaoliu had just introduced her new girlfriend to everyone.

That day, another girl had come too—a friend of Qin Xiaoliu’s girlfriend.

She had been quiet and sweet, but clearly a little socially anxious. She sat there looking unsure of what to do among so many people.

“When I saw her, I suddenly thought of you.”

“Me? Did we look alike?”

“No, you two are totally different types.”

“Then who do you think is prettier?”

“You, of course.”

Lu Yunshu nodded with deep satisfaction.

Jin Hanshuang thought her reaction was funny and patted her head.

Lu Yunshu asked, “So why did she remind you of me?”

Jin Hanshuang thought for a second. “Hmm…I don’t know. It just happened.”

She began to recall that moment in sincerity. “When I saw her, I just randomly thought of you. I started wondering—if you were sitting there, meeting all these people for the first time, how would you handle it?”

She continued, “And I felt like you’d probably handle it really well. Maybe you’d be sitting right next to me, being a sweet and polite meimei. And seeing you today, I thought—wow, I really do know you well, huh~”

Lu Yunshu finally understood.

She wrapped her arms around Jin Hanshuang’s waist. “So someone’s been caring about me since way back then, huh?”

Lu Yunshu kissed the side of Jin Hanshuang’s neck, making her laugh.

“Caring about you?” Jin Hanshuang said, her tone light. “More like I was worried about you.”

“Worried about what?”

“Worried about your love life!”

Jin Hanshuang poked her lover in the arms.

As if speaking across time to the Lu Yunshu of the past, she asked, “When are you finally going to win over your sweetheart, Little Classmate Lu?”

Today’s Lu Yunshu replied, “I already have.”

She hugged Jin Hanshuang tightly. “Don’t worry, jiejie. She loves me very much too.”

“Yes, she does.” Jin Hanshuang’s eyes were gentle.

Because of Lu Yunshu, she had fallen—hard.

She might be in for a lifetime’s worth of falling.

Lu Yunshu kissed her lips with satisfaction, fingers combing through her soft hair.

She could see all the love Jin Hanshuang gave her.

They shared another kiss.

Lu Yunshu whispered softly, “Jiejie, I’m thirsty.”

Jin Hanshuang said, “I’ll go get water—”

Before she could leave, Lu Yunshu held her down.

Their eyes met.

Jin Hanshuang caught on.

Oh, Lu Yunshu meant something else.

She pinched Lu Yunshu’s cheek. “Naughty little puppy.”

“No matter how naughty I am, Jin Hanshuang still likes me.”

Lu Yunshu pressed Jin Hanshuang down beneath her, a sly smile on her lips.

Even smiling like this, she was gorgeous.

Charming but naughty.

Jin Hanshuang admitted defeat and pulled Lu Yunshu in for another kiss. She allowed her girlfriend to pamper her with some very attentive lip service.

Whether it was making her girlfriend happy or making her girlfriend’s legs go weak, Lu Yunshu was a fast learner.

She loved hearing Jin Hanshuang call her name.

Jin Hanshuang’s voice was always beautiful, her tone always gentle.

And in moments like these, it was even more gentle, even more alluring.

“Jiejie’s voice is so nice…” Lu Yunshu murmured.

She kissed Jin Hanshuang’s cheeks, her voice full of affection.

She wanted Jin Hanshuang to be moved by her words, her eyes filled with nothing but her.

Jin Hanshuang was clinging to Lu Yunshu’s neck, catching her breath.

When she heard Lu Yunshu’s words, she smiled wickedly, “Oh, you like hearing my voice? Then you better get ready to hear a lot more~”

She leaned next to Lu Yunshu’s ear and whispered her name over and over again, relentlessly teasing her.

Each soft word struck Lu Yunshu’s heart like an arrow, making her heart beat faster. She was falling even harder than before.

All of Jin Hanshuang’s tender affection—it belonged to her.

She was overwhelmed by how much she loved it.

As Lu Yunshu satisfied Jin Hanshuang, she rasped breathlessly in Jin Hanshuang’s ear, “Jin Hanshuang, you’re really bad…”

But Jin Hanshuang only laughed.

She proudly hugged her lover.

“No matter how bad I am, Lu Yunshu still likes me.”

Lu Yunshu laughed softly. “Yes. No matter how bad you are, I will always love you. I love you very, very much.”

And the night was still young.

The author (热到昏厥) has something to say:

Very young!

(Still praying, hopefully it’s nothing serious.)[2]

[1] Here, Jin Hanshuang says “Just call them 姐 (jiě)” as opposed to what Lu Yunshu calls her, which is “姐姐” (jiějiě). Typically, “姐姐” is more intimate than “姐,” and  “姐” is affixed to the end of a person’s name rather than used to refer to someone on its own. Both mean “older sister.”

[2] I have no idea what 热到昏厥 is referring to here, unfortunately.
