Jin Hanshuang sat quietly in Lu Yunshu’s car.

She watched as Lu Yunshu helped her fasten the seatbelt and then draped a thin blanket over her.

The scent of Lu Yunshu’s body wash filled her nose, faint and pleasant.

She also noticed Lu Yunshu’s rosy lips, bare of any lipstick, but irresistibly sweet.

So sweet that she wanted to take a bite.

Soon, those lips moved away.

Lu Yunshu returned to her seat, completely unaware, and asked with concern, “Are you still cold?”

Jin Hanshuang scolded herself in her heart for being so improper, losing control after just a few drinks, and shook her head in response. “No, I’m not cold anymore.”

At that moment, Lu Yunshu’s hand reached over, gently stroking her hair.

Their eyes met.

And Lu Yunshu also lost her bearings.

“Did you drink a lot tonight?”

“Mmm…”

“Why?”

“Something on my mind.”

Jin Hanshuang avoided Lu Yunshu’s gaze, lowering her eyes. “I’m a little troubled…”

Lu Yunshu’s hand remained on her head, softly caressing, showing no intention of pulling away.

It was oddly comforting.

Lu Yunshu said, “You can share your troubles with a good friend. But next time, try to drink less. It’s not good for your health.”

She even started lecturing her.

Jin Hanshuang chuckled softly, slowly turning her head to look at Lu Yunshu. “What to do? Jiejie feels like she hasn’t had enough and wants to drink more now.”

Lu Yunshu smiled. “What to do? I guess I’ll have to join jiejie.”

No hesitation, she just went along with it.

“Alright.” Jin Hanshuang’s eyes curved into a smile, looking like a beautiful fox. “Let’s drive to your place. Do you have alcohol at home?”

Why she wanted to go to Lu Yunshu’s place, she didn’t know.

But the words had already left her mouth, and there was no taking them back.

“Yes.” Without giving her a chance to retreat, Lu Yunshu agreed and started the car. She drove them out of the parking lot and headed home.

After arriving at Lu Yunshu’s apartment complex, Jin Hanshuang stuck close to her the entire time. She followed Lu Yunshu wherever she went, stopping when Lu Yunshu stopped, and insisted on being supported by Lu Yunshu as they walked.

She wasn’t just acting coquettish. She really couldn’t walk alone. Whenever Jin Hanshuang put one foot forward, she staggered and turned straight lines into curves. Lu Yunshu didn’t dare let her go unsupported.

But even though Jin Hanshuang couldn’t walk properly when she was drunk, Lu Yunshu found Jin Hanshuang very endearing. Because Jin Hanshuang would reach out her hand and say, “Hold jiejie’s hand.”

So cute, so unreasonably cute.

There was no way Lu Yunshu could reject this cute jiejie.

Hand in hand, they entered the elevator.

Jin Hanshuang leaned quietly against Lu Yunshu.

The elevator was silent, just the two of them.

A soft chuckle fell in Jin Hanshuang’s ears, followed by Lu Yunshu’s exceptionally gentle voice. “Next time you get drunk, call me to pick you up again, okay?”

Jin Hanshuang looked at her. “Hm?”

Lu Yunshu said, “Hanshuang is cute when she’s drunk.”

Jin Hanshuang smiled. “Do you like it?”

Lu Yunshu nodded. “I like it beyond words.”

Jin Hanshuang beamed.

Oh no, now she was happy just hearing Lu Yunshu compliment her.

Damn, and it was all over her face too.

“So does jiejie like me?” Lu Yunshu suddenly asked.

Jin Hanshuang’s words back in the parking lot had stuck with her until now.

She couldn’t ignore it anymore.

This was the first time Jin Hanshuang had responded to Lu Yunshu’s affections since she earnestly began pursuing her.

So, had she read it correctly?

Or did she misunderstand, was it just an illusion?

She needed an answer.

But once again, Jin Hanshuang did not answer directly.

She leaned on Lu Yunshu’s shoulder, looking at their reflections in the elevator’s metallic surface, and murmured, “Does jiejie like you? Does she like you…”

Lu Yunshu listened to Jin Hanshuang whisper to herself for a while, then lowered her head and chuckled again.

“Is it that hard to answer?”

Jin Hanshuang nodded. “Yes, it’s a hard question.”

Then she saw the person she was leaning on suddenly smile with a hint of satisfaction, as if just this answer was enough.

“What’s our President Lu smiling about?”

“Your President Lu is very happy.”

Extremely happy.

From a straight rejection to an ambiguous response, that was a huge improvement.

Her slow and steady progress had paid off.

“Ding—”

The elevator arrived.

“Let’s go.” Lu Yunshu took Jin Hanshuang’s hand in her own. “We’re home.”

Lu Yunshu lived alone.

Her apartment was tidy, spacious, and bright.

Her living room was built with floor-to-ceiling windows peering out into the world, offering a clear view of the city’s bustling night scenery.

Jin Hanshuang sat on the large sofa, quietly gazing at the dark sky outside the window. Such a quiet and ordinary night, yet how had she ended up in Lu Yunshu’s home? And at her own suggestion, nonetheless.

When she was drunk, she could really do anything…

The phone in her bag chimed once. She took it out and glanced at it.

There was a message from Du Mengying, asking if she had arrived home.

[Jin Hanshuang]: Yes.

[Du Mengying]: Okay.

[Jin Hanshuang]: Lu Yunshu’s home.

[Du Mengying]: Wait a minute—

[Du Mengying]: What are you doing at her home?

[Jin Hanshuang]: To drink.

[Jin Hanshuang]: I didn’t drink enough earlier.

[Du Mengying]: ?

[Jin Hanshuang]: Not talking to you anymore.

She put away her phone and lazily leaned back on the sofa to enjoy the view, not feeling uncomfortable at all.

She had always been at ease around Lu Yunshu.

“Hanshuang.”

Jin Hanshuang turned her head when she heard her name called.

Lu Yunshu was walking over with a bottle of red wine and two tall chalices.

Jin Hanshuang laughed. “Are you really going to drink with me?”

Lu Yunshu sat down beside her. “Mm, I keep my promises.”

The smile in Jin Hanshuang’s eyes grew deeper. “So obedient~”

Two glasses of red wine, two restless minds.

When their drinks met with a soft clink, their gazes intertwined, and sparks flew.

As Lu Yunshu watched Jin Hanshuang take a few sips with a calm expression, she couldn’t help but smile. “So Hanshuang’s alcohol tolerance is this good.”

Jin Hanshuang didn’t deny it. “Yes, it’s not bad.”

She added, “But it depends on the situation. When needed, my tolerance isn’t so good.”

Lu Yunshu tilted her head.

Seeming to understand, but not quite.

“For example…?”

Jin Hanshuang smiled without answering.

She asked Lu Yunshu, “What about your alcohol tolerance?”

Lu Yunshu said, “It’s okay, enough to handle most social events. But nowadays, I’m always suggesting tea for these occasions.”

“Tea is good,” Jin Hanshuang said. “It’s not harmful to the body.”

Lu Yunshu said, “If you know that alcohol is so harmful, why did you still drink tonight? Is that matter in your heart really making you so unhappy?”

Her eyes sought Jin Hanshuang. “What is it? Can’t you tell me?”

Jin Hanshuang fell silent.

She retracted her gaze, swirling the wine in her glass.

Should she say it?

Should she compromise?

Should they talk?

Could she still resist Lu Yunshu?

Could she…want it?

In the gentle silence, someone took her hand.

Looking up, her gaze met those beautiful, clear eyes.

As always, Lu Yunshu only had eyes for her.

“It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it now.” Lu Yunshu’s voice was also very gentle. “I will always be here.”

She was determined to exist in Jin Hanshuang’s past, present, and future. As long as Jin Hanshuang turned around, she would find Lu Yunshu. So it didn’t matter when Jin Hanshuang wanted to talk, she would always be there.

Jin Hanshuang was unconsciously drawn to Lu Yunshu’s words, unable to look away. She could see everything about Lu Yunshu, including her irresistible charm. She could even monopolize Lu Yunshu’s love, as long as she wanted to, as long as she was willing…

The distance between them faded with every breath.

Jin Hanshuang parted her lips and said, “Lu Yunshu, you should have just confessed to me in the beginning.”

Such a sudden statement, completely from left field.

Lu Yunshu’s brows furrowed, then relaxed, as if she understood something.

She said, “But I didn’t.”

Jin Hanshuang agreed, “But you didn’t.”

“Meaning?” Lu Yunshu asked.

She thrusted the initiative in Jin Hanshuang’s hands again.

Jin Hanshuang originally had no response. But as Lu Yunshu gazed at her with clear eyes, as she teetered between the haze of intoxication and a sharp sting of clarity, she suddenly understood the answer.

So…let it be.

Lu Yunshu felt Jin Hanshuang’s touch—on her lips.

Gently, like a gust of wind, the feeling swept through her chest, sending a tremor through her heart, causing it to beat faster.

The ambiguity in the room rocketed toward a climax. Jin Hanshuang touched Lu Yunshu’s lips, her gaze wandering between Lu Yunshu’s mouth and eyes. “You don’t seem to be wearing lipstick, but I feel fooled, so beautiful…”

Jin Hanshuang set down her glass and lowered her hand. A brief hesitation played in her eyes, but the smile on her lips was seductive. “What to do? Jiejie seems to be drunk.”

The next second, a fragrant breeze swept over her.

—Lu Yunshu kissed her.

When their lips touched, all the ambiguity in the atmosphere bursted into a fervent affection. It was an irresistible impulse, impossible to control.

It was also inevitable.

It was time to move on.

No one refused, no one pushed away.

The kiss, as brief as a dragonfly skimming over water, soon ended.

Lu Yunshu gazed into Jin Hanshuang’s eyes, unable to hide her blurred fondness. To Jin Hanshuang, it was as if Lu Yunshu’s eyes contained a thousand twinkling stars.

Then Lu Yunshu also set down her wine glass, saying to Jin Hanshuang, “What to do? Jiejie, I’m drunk too.”

That’s what she said, but the smile on her lips grew wider.

Her love had been reciprocated.

It was obvious that Jin Hanshuang liked her back!

Jin Hanshuang laughed softly.

“Alright, you learn fast.”

Lu Yunshu chuckled. “Teacher Jin teaches well.”

She shuffled close to Jin Hanshuang, aggressive eyes drunk on desire, asking eagerly, “Now what? What should I do next?

“Jiejie, teach me please.”

Jin Hanshuang couldn’t stand these words the most. She reached up to remove Lu Yunshu’s gold-framed glasses. Then she leaned forward, her naturally red lips parting slightly, her voice soft and seductive, “Open your mouth. Remember to breathe.”

She hooked her arms around Lu Yunshu and kissed her again.

To hell with it, she couldn’t refuse this puppy known as Lu Yunshu.

Jin Hanshuang held onto Lu Yunshu’s neck.

Lu Yunshu embraced Jin Hanshuang’s waist.

Under Jin Hanshuang’s guidance, Lu Yunshu stepped into a whole new world.

Their kiss deepened, their hearts and souls sinking into it.

In the quiet summer night, their ears were filled with the sounds of lips and tongue. Their hearts raced, their faces flushed, as they fell deeper into each other. They were insatiable.

How fortunate is it that you like me too.

The wine was forgotten, but they grew more intoxicated.

The summer breeze outside the apartment swayed in lazy loops, as if it was also drunk on this beautiful and serene night.
