Late at night, Jin Hanshuang was sitting in bed scrolling on her tablet.

“Dresses?”

Jin Hanshuang was tickled by the kiss.

She laughed and hugged her clingy little puppy. “Okay, okay, I’ll pick something for you too.”

“Hanshuang is the best.”

As soon as these words left her mouth, Lu Yunshu’s lips instinctively moved toward Jin Hanshuang’s.

But Jin Hanshuang stopped her with a single finger.

Jin Hanshuang’s dark hair fell loosely around her shoulders. She smiled slowly, her half-lidded eyes filled with charm and seduction.

“Be good. Wait until I finish picking out our outfits, then we can kiss.”

Lu Yunshu’s heart was moved, and her affection grew even stronger.

She already knew her lover was beautiful from every angle, but this soft-spoken side was even more irresistible.

Lu Yunshu restrained herself and placed a single gentle kiss between Jin Hanshuang’s fingers. “I’ll listen to my girlfriend.”

The little puppy was very obedient. She really didn’t disturb her jiejie’s work for the rest of the night.

An hour later, Jin Hanshuang completed her task.

But before she made her purchase, she showed the outfits to Lu Yunshu first. Lu Yunshu nodded her approval, acknowledging Jin Hanshuang’s sense of style. She said that as long as Jin Hanshuang was the one picking, she would like the outfit.

Jin Hanshuang smiled. Tonight’s task was complete.

As Jin Hanshuang set aside her tablet, Lu Yunshu lowered her head and typed something on her phone. Then, with a calm expression, she raised her phone screen for Jin Hanshuang to see.

On the horizontal screen, a large white number was written on a black background.

Jin Hanshuang asked, “What’s this?”

Lu Yunshu said seriously, “Jin Hanshuang’s number card.”

Jin Hanshuang: “?”

Lu Yunshu said, “I’m number one.”

Jin Hanshuang burst out laughing.

“What is this? Since when did you do things like this?”

Lu Yunshu said, “I learned it from Jia Jia and the others.”

While Jin Hanshuang was busy browsing clothes, she had something on her mind too.

She suddenly thought of number cards.

After she checked her emails, she began working on them.

“Hanshuang is done with her work, so she can now start dating her number one lover.”

Lu Yunshu looked into Jin Hanshuang’s eyes.

She sat on Jin Hanshuang’s lap and wrapped her arms around Jin Hanshuang’s waist. 

She closed the distance between them.

“Since you’re done picking clothes, you can kiss me now.”

“Alright, jiejie will kiss this adorable little puppy number two!”

Lu Yunshu looked up, her hands around Jin Hanshuang’s waist. “After kissing number two, number one needs a turn too.”

Jin Hanshuang was amused.

“Fine, fine. I’ll kiss them all,” she said. “I’ll kiss number three, four, five, and six too, okay?”

“Okay.”

Little Puppy Lu smiled in satisfaction.

In the blink of an eye, the day of the charity gala arrived.

Shen Wenxin changed into her dress at Jin Hanshuang’s house.

They left together, with Jin Hanshuang in the passenger seat and Shen Wenxin driving.

Jin Hanshuang glanced at her stepdaughter. When they stopped at a red light, she reached over to help Shen Wenxin fix her hair.

She looked at her screen.

It was a message from Lu Yunshu.

[Lu Yunshu]: Are you almost here?

[Jin Hanshuang]: On the way.

[Lu Yunshu]: Okay, drive safely.

Jin Hanshuang glanced at Shen Wenxin, who had already turned her gaze away.

She lowered her eyes and continued typing: [There’s something I need to tell you about now.]

Jin Hanshuang’s eyes brightened. Lu Yunshu was wearing contact lenses, her hair styled into a bun. The younger woman’s entire appearance had changed to suit a more charming, mature style.

Upon seeing Lu Yunshu, Jin Hanshuang couldn’t suppress her smile.

Lu Yunshu curled her lips.

Jin Hanshuang’s heart skipped a beat.

Lu Yunshu’s smile was so beautiful that it was almost outrageous.

But if Lu Yunshu was smiling at her, then…she probably wasn’t upset?

Jin Hanshuang turned her attention to Shen Wenxin.

Jin Hanshuang’s mind was filled with thoughts of Lu Yunshu being upset.

Was this child actually unhappy?

Why? What could be the reason?
