The holiday was over, but the festive atmosphere lingered.

Bright red lanterns glowed cheerfully in the drifting snow.

On the way back to the apartment, Jin Hanshuang bought their own small hanging lantern ornament with a little stand.

She placed it on the shoe cabinet at the entrance of their home.

The small red light sat there and filled the room with joy.

After finishing with the decoration, Jin Hanshuang turned and embraced Lu Yunshu.

She kissed her and said, “Happy New Year~”

She had said this to Lu Yunshu many times already, but she wanted to say it again—because the mood was just right, and she felt so happy.

They had finally gained the approval of both their families.

From now on, their love could be even more open and unapologetic!

“Happy New Year,” Lu Yunshu said with a gentle kiss.

Then she looked into Jin Hanshuang’s eyes and asked, “Hanshuang, have you missed me these past few days?”

Jin Hanshuang thought of how, whenever they had free time, they would video call each other. They were so clingy that it felt like they were living in the same house.

Lu Yunshu clearly felt the same way, but she still wanted to ask.

Jin Hanshuang curved her eyes. “Why don’t you guess, Yunshu?”

Lu Yunshu wrapped her arms around Jin Hanshuang’s waist and said, “I guess…I think Hanshuang must have missed me terribly. She couldn’t stop thinking about me, so she tossed and turned every night, unable to sleep because she missed me so much.”

Hearing this, Jin Hanshuang laughed. “Mm, yes, that’s right. I missed you so much I got insomnia…and I definitely never fell asleep mid-call.”

“Not you?” Lu Yunshu laughed along. “Strange, I could’ve sworn the person that fell asleep was as cute as you.”

That’s right, Jin Hanshuang had fallen asleep while talking to Lu Yunshu. Because the bed was comfortable, the temperature was ideal, and Lu Yunshu’s voice was right by her ear. All the conditions were perfect.

Jin Hanshuang fell right into a doze without even realizing when her eyelids had grown so heavy that they closed. All she remembered was waking up the next day to find the call still connected, and her phone battery almost dead.

Jin Hanshuang pinched Lu Yunshu’s cheek. “And you didn’t even think to hang up.”

Lu Yunshu’s eyes were bright. “You’re so cute. I couldn’t bear to hang up.”

That night, even half-asleep and barely holding on to consciousness, Jin Hanshuang had responded to Lu Yunshu. But her answers slowly weakened, eventually turning into soft, single syllable “Mms.”

When Jin Hanshuang finally drifted off, all that was left was her light, even breaths. Even though she couldn’t see anything, Lu Yunshu had found it adorable.

Jin Hanshuang, the most adorable thing in the world.

Jin Hanshuang poked her girlfriend’s cheek with a helpless smile. “Your love filter is way too thick.”

Lu Yunshu kissed her. “Jin Hanshuang is cute no matter what.”

Jin Hanshuang’s heart was filled with warmth. “Such a sweet mouth.”

She unconsciously traced Lu Yunshu’s lips, her gaze turning seductive. “What kind of reward should I give my Yunshu?”

“I want you, jiejie.”

Lu Yunshu didn’t even have to think.

Her gaze burned as she leaned in to kiss Jin Hanshuang’s lips.

Between gentle kisses, she whispered, “I can go to the office a little later tomorrow morning.”

It was as obvious as a hint could be.

Jin Hanshuang hooked an arm around Lu Yunshu’s neck, smiling as she replied, “Then I’ll reward you like this—with a shower first.”

Jin Hanshuang grabbed her pajamas and took Lu Yunshu with her to the bathroom.

The water was just the right temperature.

The heat melded into something more intimate.

Jin Hanshuang straddled Lu Yunshu’s lap. Cupping the back of her head, she kissed her without restraint. Their lips and tongues tangled together.

Her skin was slick with water, droplets still clinging to the ends of her hair.

Their eyes were just as wet, hazy and unfocused like drifting mist. 

Jin Hanshuang’s fingers gently traced over the back of Lu Yunshu’s neck.

Her voice was soft and enticing, falling against Lu Yunshu’s ear like a spring breeze: “Whatever Yunshu wants, tell me.”

Lu Yunshu’s arms tightened around her waist.

Her eyes stayed on Jin Hanshuang, seeing only her.

“I want jiejie. I want Jin Hanshuang.”

“Good girl.” Jin Hanshuang kissed her brows with satisfaction.

She eased Lu Yunshu onto the edge of the bathtub and leaned over her, both hands on her legs. Steam curled lazily from the bathwater. The surface rippled, water lapping softly.

They were wet. The air was wet. The surging heat of their love seemed to meld everything into water—blending them together, making them each other’s whole world.

They expressed their love freely.

No one in the world loved or wanted them more.

Lu Yunshu tossed her head back, her breathing quickening between their kisses.

Jin Hanshuang always knew how to make her happy, how to make her feel cherished—

And exactly where to kiss her so she would fall even deeper.

The kiss lowered.

When Lu Yunshu opened her eyes, she was greeted by her lover at her most alluring.

They looked into each other’s eyes and shared a smile.

Lu Yunshu reached up to tuck away a loose strand of Jin Hanshuang’s hair, brushing her cheek briefly before kissing her again. 

Their love burned hotter, their desire grew.

How strong was their longing for each other?

So strong that they couldn’t stop from the bathroom to the bedroom.

Lu Yunshu sat on the bed. Her arms wrapped around Jin Hanshuang’s waist, drawing her down to sit astride her right thigh.

Then she kissed Jin Hanshuang, touching her, watching as her eyes grew hazy.

She could clearly see every change within her.

“Hanshuang.”

“Mm?”

“How can you be so beautiful?”

How could someone be so beautiful in every possible way?

Her girlfriend was so beautiful, seductive, and delicate.

“Give it to me…”

With just one look from Jin Hanshuang, Lu Yunshu’s heart was completely captured.

It beat wildly out of rhythm.

Jin Hanshuang looked even more beautiful like this.

Lu Yunshu wanted to throw herself in after her without a second thought.

She wanted to give her everything, even the stars and moon in the sky.

“What do you want? Tell me.”

But she can still be a little bad.

Jin Hanshuang realized what Lu Yunshu was doing and let out a soft laugh.

She took Lu Yunshu’s hand and brought it to her lips for a kiss.

She looked straight into Lu Yunshu’s eyes. “I want you.”

She took Lu Yunshu’s fingers into her mouth and bit them, then let go.

Lu Yunshu watched as Jin Hanshuang lowered her hand—and kept lowering.

Then Jin Hanshuang moved, lifting her hips before settling back down again, right into Lu Yunshu’s grasp.

Lu Yunshu couldn’t help but meet Jin Hanshuang’s gaze.

Jin Hanshuang kissed her, murmuring in her ear, “I want Lu Yunshu.”

She was good at this—

So good that Lu Yunshu was completely, utterly defeated.

Willingly so.

She liked it too much.

And so, she skillfully slipped into Jin Hanshuang’s world, all while kissing her helplessly.

“Jiejie, you’re so good at this…”

Jin Hanshuang’s smile turned sly.

Because the little puppy loved her jiejie so much, the little puppy was always so easy to hook.

She said nothing and deepened the kiss, all while controlling the pace between them.

The little puppy was so obedient.

If Jin Hanshuang wanted slow, they went slow.

If she wanted fast, they went fast.

If she wanted a kiss, the little puppy took the initiative.

Whatever Jin Hanshuang wanted, the little puppy gave.

The little puppy loved her.

And she loved the little puppy.

“Happy New Year, Yunshu.” Jin Hanshuang lay on the bed, gazing up at her lover.

Her eyes were tender as she cupped Lu Yunshu’s face. “This year, you have to be happy all the time too.”

Lu Yunshu laughed. “Hanshuang has said Happy New Year to me so many times today.”

Jin Hanshuang smiled. “Because I really want you to be happy.”

“I will,” Lu Yunshu said. “With you by my side, I’ll be happy like this all year.”

She bent down to kiss Jin Hanshuang’s shoulder.

Then she said abruptly, “I love you.”

Hearing those three words, Jin Hanshuang—mysteriously and for no reason—felt like she might cry.

Her eyes were red as she looked at Lu Yunshu and replied, “I love you too.”

Lu Yunshu raised a hand to brush the corner of Jin Hanshuang’s eye, then leaned down to kiss her.

Her voice was impossibly gentle. “Why are you crying?”

Jin Hanshuang hadn’t meant to cry, but hearing those words, she really felt like crying.

Still, she held it in.

She held it in so much that she ended up laughing instead.

“I’m not crying. I haven’t cried at all.”

Lu Yunshu was still worried. “What’s wrong? Did you think of something sad?”

She added, “It’s okay. I’m here.”

Jin Hanshuang shook her head. “No…it’s just that I suddenly feel so lucky.”

She had struggled alone for over twenty years, not knowing what tomorrow would bring, much less the future.

But now she had everything.

A warm home, a loving family, and a girlfriend who cherished her.

She was so fortunate.

“Yunshu, I’m so glad I met you. I’m so glad I didn’t look past you.”

After everything, the heavens had been generous.

Lu Yunshu smiled softly. “I feel the same. It’s so wonderful that Hanshuang likes me too.”

Jin Hanshuang’s heart melted.

She cupped Lu Yunshu’s face, rubbing and caressing it. “Pitiful little puppy…”

“I’m not pitiful anymore,” Lu Yunshu said with a smile. “Right now, I’m Jin Hanshuang’s first choice. Her number one person.”

There was a touch of pride in her tone.

The little puppy had not only seen her dream come true, but she had also become her jiejie’s favorite person. It was quite the achievement.

Jin Hanshuang laughed at Lu Yunshu’s words. “That’s right.”

Lu Yunshu was her first choice.

Her forever first choice.

With this tender moment passed, it was time to return to the main course.

Jin Hanshuang smiled beatifically.

“Then could my first choice please continue with me now?”

Lu Yunshu blinked in surprise.

Once she understood, she leaned down to kiss Jin Hanshuang—

And let her hands get to work.

She was, without a doubt, Jin Hanshuang’s number one.

The next evening, Shen Wenxin came over.

She had arrived to deliver some things Jin Hanshuang had left behind at the Shen residence, as well as ask how the meeting with Lu Yunshu’s aunt and uncle had gone.

Jin Hanshuang happily hugged her precious daughter, her smile bright as the sun. “It went really well. Yunshu’s aunt and uncle are both very open-minded, wonderful people!”

Shen Wenxin nodded. “That’s good.”

Seeing how happy Jin Hanshuang was, she couldn’t help but add, “Look at you.”

Jin Hanshuang beamed even more.

Shen Wenxin could only feel helpless.

Her stepmother really liked Lu Yunshu.

Just then, Jin Hanshuang’s phone rang.

She went to take the call.

Which left Shen Wenxin and Lu Yunshu sitting on the sofa, staring at each other.

Shen Wenxin said, “Why are you here this time?”

Lu Yunshu retorted, “Why do you always ask stupid questions?”

Shen Wenxin said, “Tsk.”

She glanced in the direction her Jin Hanshuang had gone, then said to Lu Yunshu, “I’m leaving. Later, can you let my stepmom know?”

Shen Wenxin had only come to drop off some things and never planned to stay overnight.

Lu Yunshu nodded.

Then she called after Shen Wenxin, “Wait, I have something for you.”

Shen Wenxin watched Lu Yunshu go into the master bedroom.

Then she saw Lu Yunshu come back out, holding a red envelope.

Lu Yunshu handed it to her.

The design on the envelope was very familiar.

It was a little panda peeking out from the side.

Wasn’t this the red envelope her stepmother had custom-made?

Knowing it was something Jin Hanshuang had prepared, Shen Wenxin took it. “From my stepmom? Didn’t she already give me a red envelope for the New Year?”

“It’s not from her,” Lu Yunshu said. “It’s from your other mom.”

Shen Wenxin looked up.

Lu Yunshu said, “Me—I’m your other mom.”

Shen Wenxin: “…”

Pah!

The red envelope was slapped back into Lu Yunshu’s hands.
